I had never heard of Halo Top, but stumbled across a display this week at Whole Foods. I got the vanilla bean and thought it was delicious. A spoonful in black coffee is probably a waste of good ice cream, but my, how tasty. Also good with a grind of black pepper (!) and a little Bonne Maman cherry preserve.
I wonder why I don't lose weight...

Halo Top's Vanilla and Mocha are fantastic, but the Lemon Cake and Strawberry are IMO, too sweet. That said, I still prefer a scoop of the real deal. Today; Breakfast--not hungry so cold brew coffee, with milk and simple syrup Lunch--rice noodles with a tahini sauce, cucumber, mint, cilantro, and poached eggs Snack--Chocolate peanut butter smoothie, banana/spinach/dark chocolate almond milk (unsweetened)/peanut butter/Designer Whey Protein Powder Dinner--will be ginger beef lettuce cups, with peanuts, pickled red onions (Buzzfeed recipe)

Made an accidentally amazing lunch choice yesterday. I was really just confirming that something called Sante Fe chicken salad was indeed a sandwich and not a salad and the person rang it in before I could stop them. It was possibly the best sandwich I've ever had in my life and I'm going to have to restrain myself from going back there and ordering it every single day. Chicken salad (seemingly without mayo, so maybe just chunk chicken), large slices of avocado, black bean and corn salsa, and chipotle ranch. SO, SO good. Thank you, overly impatient order-taker!

Breakfast was a whole cantaloupe from the garden. It was tiny- less than 4" across- and just perfect. I saved the seeds in the hopes of growing more next year.
Lunch- a turkey sandwich with roasted tomatoes and a couple of fresh fermented dill pickle slices (NYC deli style). I made roasted tomatoes for the first time earlier in the week and can't believe how delicious they are.
Supper- I have some leftover marinated chicken thighs- maybe a pasta salad incorporating them and roasted tomatoes and kalamata olives?

Breakfast: Cold brew coffee, and a FANTASTIC biscuit from a local bakery with cilantro and sausage. I had gone running and lifted weights, so was starving. Snack: Jerky, and bought the boy some chocolate covered espresso beans. Lunch: Shrimp with chimchurri rice, salad with walnuts/goat cheese/cranberries Dinner: Aglio y Olio pasta, lime popsicle

Since I know many of my Greecie colleagues are cookie butter freaks, here's my review of the new Starbucks cookie butter bar: it's a miss! It tasted very amateurish and not thought out.

My day so far; Breakfast; Cold Brew (Trader Joe's French Press Cold Brew Concentrate) with milk, a smoothie with fruit, spinach, and sprouted toast with homemade coffee vanilla peanut butter. I would like y'all to be impressed with the homemade peanut butter, but it was literally "put ingredients in food processor and turn the damn thing on".
Lunch: Leftover Sesame Noodles from Budget Bites. I didn't love them either with or without the egg (which I had with it for dinner). I liked it better with chicken. Honeycrisp and some yogurt too.
Dinner: A local Indo-Chinese place which I haven't tried before.
