I had a bowl of Chocolate Cheerios for breakfast. That’s a healthy breakfast, right?

My eyes were bigger than my stomach. I only had one medium plate of turkey and dressing, mac and cheese, 2 slices of ham, 1 one roll, and 1 slice of caramel cake. Didn't even have room for pie. Yes, you read that right. Not one vegetable. I was in beast mode. I've been lethargic since around 7ish. Too full to lie down, but too tired to try and work it off. So I've been lounging and sipping ginger ale. Breakfast of pie and leftovers will be amazeballs though!!

Turducken, Mac n'cheese (meh), Brussels with bacon, and some green bean casserole. Plus two types of stuffing. I did not eat anything else for the rest of the day after.

We went to a friend's for potluck and had an amazing spread. I probably should have skipped everything else and just eaten the homemade dressing, it was that good. I took green bean casserole (from scratch), marinated sweet potatoes and ancho peppers; cranberry-orange relish; waldorf salad; brownies; and birthday cake. We left the sweets since we are returning Saturday. Vade retro me, Satana! Today I'm eating the vegetable leftovers and they will be ALL MINE since husband is going out of town. For tomorrow's get-together I'm transforming the leftover cranberry into sweet rolls and the waldorf salad into an apple loaf.
This afternoon I'm going to the grocery store (since it is the one retail business that will be comparatively quiet today) and see what kind of deals I can get on a fresh turkey if they have any left.

Yesterday was half a bagel, rest stop coffee by the quart, and nursing home dining hall turkey loaf with puréed parsnips and carrots, stuffing. The carrot cake was pretty good, though. We came back to pretty ok crockpot lasagna and the mini cheesecakes I made the day before. I’m making thanksgiving food for dinner, so the planet will be back in harmony.
Carolinian, could you post or link the sweet potato recipe? They don’t come naturally to me, and I’m always trying to find ways to eat more of them.

I didn't think we had any leftovers because I thought we sent them all home with my family. But I just opened the fridge to see that we do have some. Hooray!
Thanksgiving was at my house yesterday. I made the turkey (with a weaved bacon blanket on top -- yum!), stuffing (disappointing), mashed potatoes, mashed rutabaga (TTMR loves them), cranberry sauce (canned and homemade), and rolls. My mom brought glazed carrots and green bean casserole, and my SIL brought two pies from a local, award-winning pie shop. TTMR's parents were down from Canada. TTMR's dad loves to cook and he's very good at it, so I was happy to have his help in the kitchen. He's a master at making gravy and I'm happy to turn that over to him. All in all, it turned out very good.

We're going to a leftover party today, I made hummus with some chickpeas I cooked Monday, and cooked the brussel sprouts I didn't make yesterday (I bought extra) and roasted them with salt, pepper and cheese.
