Some heathens calling themselves Hammond's made a candy bar called Pigs & 'Taters, which blends bacon flavored soy with potato chip bits. I've eaten three in the last day. This post shall serve as a public service warning that these things are highly addictive. :-)

I love roasted cauliflower (roasted broccoli is also amazing). I do it really simply with olive oil and a bit of S&P

I love to do a combo of cauliflower, broccoli, Brussel sprouts and carrots. Just a light olive oil drizzle, s&p, garlic powder and a pinch of red pepper. It's divine.

mmm, roasted cauliflower. So good when it's just simple oil + S&P but when I'm feeling spicy I like to add a little Thai red curry paste to the oil or a blend of cracked pepper, chili powder and cumin.

I like roasted potatoes and cauliflower sprinkled with S&P and cumin seeds.

Since we're talking yummy roasts, this dinner has proven to be very popular at casa Bat. I use Italian turkey sausage (uncooked) and squeeze it out of its casings into meat balls.

I had a wonderful roasted cauliflower dish at a restaurant: it was topped with harrisa, tahini and roasted nuts on top. I’ve had some success with repeating it at home - I recommend it.

I subscribed to NatureBox for a few shipments, and it's not amazing. My favorite things so far were the Big Island Pineapple rings, and dried pineapple isn't really that novel. Peanut Butter NomNoms were a particular disappointment, and other things have mostly been in between. Has anyone tried something that blew their mind?

What am I eating today? What I like to call "peasant food," which consists of stuff I always have in the pantry/fridge. January is a tough month, moneywise! I am eating jasmine rice with kale pesto mixed in (from the freezer). Topped with can diced tomatoes with pancetta, greek olives, garlic, capers, and spices. Need to save veggies for dinner. Ugh, I hate January.
