The New Orleans LUSH is always generous with samples, and the sales girls are always beyond friendly. Love them! And my boyfriend always spends a ton of money in there for his sister in law and other female friends and relatives.

I ordered a whole bunch of wrapped gifts to give to volunteers I work with, they arrived damaged. I called Lush and they were kind enough to send replacement gifts and told me to keep all the undamaged products. The new gifts arrived and they are damaged. Lush won't let me exchange them in store and won't send new gifts with expedited shipping, so they won't get here in time for our Xmas party. Lush sucks. Both times the gifts were packaged very poorly, it's their fault. I'm out nearly $400 and totally done with Lush. I'm so furious right now I'm on the verge of an internet wide smear campaign.

Aw, sammybee - I'm so sorry. That really does suck. I have lots of complaints about their packing system myself - we get product delivered to us (not often, but it's happened) that's totally unusable. I bought a gift for myself from the shop early on in my employment, and the soap was partially melted and the bath bomb was busted.
Try posting something in the "forums" section on the lush.com website and see what kind of response you get. The folks at corporate read it.

Where did the gifts originate from? If theyre UK produced, put a complaint on the UK forum. The owner of the company is always on there, and hes very receptive.
I hate the popcorn packaging, its ridiculous and yucky and everytime Ive opened a box things are moving around WAY too much to keep things intact. Theyre fragile items, and they should NOT move inside the boxes in transit!
The MO packaging people need to stop being stingy with the packing materials.

My experience with Lush has been very poor lately too. After a screw up with an order I sent several emails to the head office but nothing was accomplished. No one seemed to have any answers, then they just stopped responding at all. I also posted in the forums and had little luck. I have completely stopped buying Lush because of this.

Really sorry to hear about your bad experiences with mail order. If the company has a weak point, it's definitely in the packing and shipping (both the timeliness and the physical packaging itself), and I'm sure you guys aren't the only ones experiencing issues with things.

That's terrible, sammybee. If they won't exchange the items again, I'd go to their store and SHOW THEM the product. I'd be super pissed.
Do they ship from a lot of different places? I just got a mail order this last week and none of it was wrapped in foam popcorn. It was all wrapped in brown packaging paper. I think the last order I had was like that, too. And I haven't had anything broken yet.

Controversial but I am going there: I hate all of the jellies. They all smell the same to me - sickeningly sweet. I guess it's the base. I gave them a fair try I think (Deep Sleep, Sweetie Pie and Champagne... whatever it's called) but Ewww! They literally nauseate me.
