I got the impression that Jeff was intimidated by Yul's intelligence and calm nature and chose to combat that by picking on him. Sort of like how the "cool" kids in school pick on the smart kids. Based on his comments at the beginning of this season about how amazing it was that all Asian cultures are not alike, Jeff doesn't come off as particulary sharp-minded.

With Jonathan, he was pissed that Jon refused to kowtow to him

atreides, I agree with your assessment of Jeff's attitudes towards Yul and Jonathan. Especially about Jonathan. Jeff really seemed put out that Jonathan would snark back at him during challenges. I almost expected Jeff to burst out with "Respect mah a-thor-a-tay!"

That fire-making tiebreaker was one of the funniest things I have ever seen on tv. I think I scared the cat, I was laughing so hard.

Adam's little speech during the reunion about how he and Candice aren't together any more was kind of painful; I get the impression he dumped her pretty quickly. I won't miss seeing his mouth-breathing, Candice's overabundance of smug, or Parvati's weird, overly toothed "smile." (Evidently, Billy attended the TWoP TARCON on Dec 10, and said he'd seen Parvati's "boxing." He called it "*punch* 'Oops, I lost my top!' boxing." Heh.)

I heard about that description! Hilarious! And I loved how you could tell she looked a little on the embarrassed side when she referred to her boxing as "Model Boxing" on the reunion! Bitch, please - you can try to clean that up any way you want, but not only does "Model Boxing" sound just as dumb, we all know it's commonly called "Foxy Boxing", and it's just as Billy described it at TARCON. If she were a real boxer, there's very little chance that all of those huge teeth of hers would be intact.

Season 14 starts on February 8.

They're having Survivor auditions in my city (KCMO - they must be trying to get out of LA) this weekend. I'm kinda sorta tempted to go but I don't think there's anyway I could get all that time off work. Plus I keep thinking of all the icky things that happen on Survivor and I have a feeling I would make an idiot out of myself if I somehow did get chosen. Although I'm not a complete prissy girl, I hate camping and I'm afraid of snakes and the ocean.

But then it would be a good way to get rid of this extra 20lbs that I've managed to gain...heh...who am I kidding? I probably have a nervous breakdown if I didn't starve to death first!

So, initial thoughts. I heart Yau Man. I loved him even before I found out he was an engineer, especially with the box-breaking. I'm getting tired of Boston pretty boys. And it really sucks to be Sylvia. Hopefully taking on a leader role won't come back to bite her later.
