Yes, I see Rollins ending up dead or in jail at some point. Certainly not like Munch, who's sitting on enough pension money that he can bail his former co-workers out of jail without collateral! I used to also watch Homicide and I swear he had multiple ex-wives and alimony payments. He did have several ex-wives, and I want to say that he got married/divorced right before Homicide ended.

Sundance channel is running original recipe, old-school marathons. My DVR is chock full, so I can watch a few episodes every night. Now that I'm 17-18 years older, I'm developing an appreciation for Abbie Carmichael, whom I couldn't stand in the show's first run. I always thought her personal politics coloured her decisions, but that's true of every DA/ADA. I also thought she could be unsympathetic at best, and an unrelenting bitch at worst. In my memeory she was an angry, shrewish harpie, but I've come to sort of dig her.

In my memeory she was an angry, shrewish harpie, but I've come to sort of dig her. This sums up my opinion, too. She remains kind of awful in her own way, but still not worse than Arthur Branch and Serena Southerlin. In retrospect, she's cunning, tough, and openly rolled her eyes, which might have been poor acting, but I find myself cheering for her now. I also like how she pulled that character out of a dull, mousy lull. I still can't stand Carey Lowell's character (Jamie Ross), who could best be described as aggressively beige. Claire Kincaid had the tragical write-off accompanied by angsty McCoy, but her character was kind of...not contained, but maybe just not well-developed. She wore a conservative bob, had NPR-type opinions on things and slept with her boss.

Lilo is not going to like this week's episode.
I hate the new guy. He looks (and sometimes acts) like a dirtbag. He was a little too convincing when he went undercover as a john who likes roughing up the hookers.

I haven't been watching the past couple of seasons, but I watched the season premiere this weekend on demand. Re: the new guy - I'm surprised Olivia didn't send him out the door immediately, with him marked "Return to sender".

SVU is running a "before they were famous" marathon. Whoever came up with this gets a gold star, because seeing the Tom Cruise stand-in railing against psychiatric drugs, and realizing he's played by NORMAN REEDUS, is amazing.

I still can't get over the part in the S10 opener when they turned the 14 year old trafficking victim back over to her pimp. Why the hell wouldn't she be turned over to social services instead of being charged in the first place, and allowed to be bailed out by the same people who forced her into prositution in the first place?
Then a couple of episodes later they're all concerned about a 15 year old boy who got a BJ from the Lindsey Lohan lookalike.

I've only started to watch tonight's (Wednesday) episode of SVU and can they just quit with the "[the following episode is not based on true events]" bullshit?
Because every time they say that, I know that the following episode will be about a current or recently discussed news event. And as per usual, it's a Ray Rice-esque story (they even say that this could turn into a Ray Rice situation!) where an NFL athlete slaps around his "baby mama" and it's all caught on silent surveillance video from an arena, hotel or something to that effect. Instead of an elevator, it's a back entry stairwell, to which we see him carrying her out, dragging her feet while unconscious to their car.
Are the writers just unable to come up with something that is along the lines of celeb domestic violence without practically recreating the scene that we've all seen on TMZ? LOL
I could write this in my sleep and I doubt I'd ever be taken seriously for writing it. Yet, they do.

What kills me is how SVU always has to rip like five stories from the headlines at once. Like we can't just do Ray Rice, we also need to throw in the celebrity nude photos leak. Why? It makes no sense.
I have to say, I think the actress who plays Rollins is really good at being dysfunctional. I kind of wish she had her own show on FX where she could just go full anti-hero.

I just discovered that various episodes of "Law & Order UK" are on YouTube. They're also broadcast on BBC America. For the record, the theme music is completely different that the US version, but they still use the "chunk chunk" noises when the trial scenes start.
