So... a certain cast departure happened. I can't say I'm happy about it.
Over on Previously TV a lot of posters are creaming themselves over the new white guy detective, and I'm just... not really seeing it. He's likable enough, but that's about it.

I am not happy about it either. I need my sexy Cubano dammit!

I don't keep up on spoilers for SVU, so I didn't really see it coming. And I'm not happy about it!
The way the finale ended in favor for Benson and Noah seemed a little too neatly wrapped. How random that he would just decide to go ape-shit in the courtroom and pull that kind of stunt? Which would almost guarantee him getting shot and killed? Lame.
However, I'm glad that Noah is home with Olivia and can live a happy life without his thug bio-dad.

Since this is my favorite white noise, I've had it on most of the day while I do all my stuff around the house. TNT is up to the Van Buren cancer episodes, and it just hit me how damn good S Epatha was on this show.

Yes! YES! YEEESSSSS. I watched, too! The last season was so strong, and saturated with conflict. I was so glad "Just a Girl In The World" was on--it's one of my favorites. I loved hating Lupo. And I don't know if I ever even saw the stereo salesman/jihadi cell episode. Hot damn.

She should have been nominated for an Emmy. My heart was in my throat that final season with worry for her.

S Epatha did a great job with Van Buren's character. She was so natural, it was like she wasn't acting at all. Van Buren was a badass, too. I remember one episode when she took down a suspect physically, on a staircase.

SVU adding a new ADA. Admittedly I haven't watched this shitshow in ages, but why?? Isn't Raul Esparza/Barba the only watchable aspect? Also, there was a recent marathon of mothership episodes from the Lupo & Bernard era. I have to say, cast-wise the last two seasons might have been one of my favorite overall line-ups. Not as iconic as the Briscoe/Green years for sure, but they had a pretty good groove.

I also enjoyed Lupo & Bernard and thought they got better as the season progressed. I was actually sad it got cancelled because it had been on a good roll.

Yeah, kicking Jack upstairs was an interesting (and natural) development. He was a tough act to follow but I thought Cutter & Rubirosa had a good dynamic too. What a shame.
