Yes, that was very boring for sweeps. Christopher was an idiot. "Oh cool, you have a new Xbox." Puhleez writers, try a litte harder.
Loved Emily and Richard throwing the doubts in on the DNA test, there's some reality conversation.
I hope this starts Paris being a beeotch to Rory again, I miss the early years.

Okay, so the husband wanted to watch this show, and I had things to do on the computer, so I wasn't going to object immediately, BUT...
The reason why I don't watch this show anymore is because everything now takes a backseat to the fact that all things happen for Rory's benefit, just so we can see how wonderful (read: entitled) she is.
I was all for her stealing the boat. Here's why: it was nice to see her crack up after we see that the big world doesn't feel about her the way Stars Hollow feels about her. THEN, we find out Huntzberger was going to tear her down because she was dating his son, not because she wasn't a great journalist (hell, I actually thought it was one of the best things AS-P had written when he said that she didn't have the drive because she wasn't a real go-getter and she replied with "but I did everything you asked me to!" Seemed appropriate that book-smart Rory doesn't know how to function in the real world; she has a tried-and-true procedure for things that seem somehow to be ordered, and the world doesn't work that way, and she had to learn that, and it felt good to see).
But then, it became "The Conspiracy Against Rory". And I got pissed.
Turns out Rory IS that good and deserves EVERYTHING.
So, instead of having to go to a lesser school and work her way through life, Daddy happens into some money and she can go right back AND becomes the editor of the Daily News, AND in some sort of fangirl-like-fueled push (because you know, the fangirls liked Tristan), she gets back together with the Huntzberger kid (neo-Tristan...yawn) so she can once again settle back into the life of entitlement instead of learning that life in the real world is work.
Okay, I get it, the sun shines on Rory at all times in all ways. Anyone want to buy my Season 1 DVDs, real cheap?

I actually preferred Logan to Luke. Kill me now. Luke used to be snarky and fun- now he's selfish and unpleasant. How hard could it be for Lorelai to say, "I'm going to be her stepmom, so how about I spend some time with April someday?" She's never had a problem butting in before. Oh, well.
ETA: I forgot to mention that I squealed when Luke told Lorelai he loved her. I haven't seen a lot of 6th season eps, but I believe this is the first episode where the audience hears him say it.

I think Lorelai's attitude toward April (resentful, etc.) would be a lot more understandable if SHE didn't have a daughter from another relationship as well. Yeah, Luke has always known about Rory and Lorelai JUST found out about April, but... She could try to be a little more understanding and less hypocritical. I know it's hard to deal with, but... hypocrite. Though Luke should be more open to them meeting, I agree.

I know it's hard to deal with, but... hypocrite. Though Luke should be more open to them meeting, I agree. I don't know about that. I think under the circumstances she has been extremely understanding. There really was no need IMO to postpone the wedding over this, and Luke has been acting like a first-class jackass. Granted, I think this whole subplot with the daughter he never knew he had is absurd. That little girl is a carbon copy of Rory Gilmore as a pre-teen, and one Rory is plenty enough for that show. It's just over-the-top and irritating now. The only reason I continue to watch is because Lauren Graham is so great as Lorelai. At this point, she's the heart of the show. If Luke and Lorelai don't end up married by the end of the season, I'll consider this show a complete waste of my time. There are so many directions the show could take even if they allowed Luke and Lorelai to get married. I don't know why the writers can't trust that the show could still be successful if they let this happen. Geez.

I agree that Luke is being a jackass and I HATE April and that whole plot with a passion. But I still think they should be careful not to have Lorelai act resentful, because Luke has accepted Rory like a daughter and, while Lorelai doesn't have to go that far, resenting April and the time she wants to spend with her "father" would be hypocritical of her. At least they haven't shown April THAT much. Let's hope they keep it that way.
I can totally see Rory getting really jealous of April if Luke and Lorelai ever get married and April spends time with them without Rory. I think the same will happen if Luke and Lorelai have a kid; Rory will be SO jealous she'll explode.

I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for a lot, so Rory hasn't been pissing me off all that much. However, last night, the writers crossed the line.
When did Rory learn to COOK? This is a girl whose mother never cooked, spent two years in the dorm, moved in with her grandparents (who would be horrified to find her in the kitchen - that's what the maids are for). She just miraculously woke up one morning able to whip up all sorts of wonderful dishes? Give me a break.

That's a good point about Lorelai needing to tread lightly with acting resentful. Honestly though, I've gotten the impression that her resentment is less about April and more about the wedding being postponed. Maybe I've missed something, but I just haven't seen her act resentful about Luke having the daughter per se. She's seemed hurt because he kept it from her and because he doesn't seem to want to involve her in any way. I mean, let's face it, most people probably would be pretty hurt/confused if s/he found out her fiance had a child in the same manner in which Lorelai discovered the news--completely caught off guard and at the diner. And I fault Luke to a large extent. He was so insistent on being a part of April's life. He certainly could have told April about Lorelai before she spent the day "helping" at the diner.
And Amen, spordelia. That whole Rory cooking thing was just crazy.
