Oh. It earned this thread tonight.
Between Sweet Bakaa Valley High and Syria's Unfortunate Events (say it outloud) I nearly about snorted my wine up my nose.
ETA: Not that I drink or anything. I'm a serious moderator.

I've always loved when Brian Williams (and Tom Brokaw for that matter) were on The Daily Show, or Conan.
And Brian's appearance the other night on TDS, doing damage control for their error was great.
This show has been hit or miss for the past couple of weeks, but this week has been great.

It seems there is a nice connection between TDS and NBC news figures. During one of the conventions last year, TDS was getting a lot of press and the "real" (ahem) U.S. media personalities were giving TDS a cold shoulder at the convention (this was around the time of the Ted Koppel incident). But I had a chuckle when Stephen Colbert went over to the NBC booth with Tom Brokaw and Tim Russert in a meeting with, perhaps, their producers. Stephen pretended to clear up smudges on the glass - in deference to the mighty powers of Brokaw & Russert - and rather than roll their eyes and ignore Stephen like the rest of the "real" media, they started laughing and pointed to other areas in the glass for him to clean.
I have to admit I'm partial to Brokaw & Russert, but that made me love them even more.

Last night's show was absolutely hilarious. The whole "he's got huuuuuuuuge balls" thing had me rolling and squicked out the whole time (I don't need to even remotely think about that with W). "Now let's look at Barbara Bush's balls...." Hee!
And what was the deal with Al Green? Was he drunk/high? Or has he had some sort of stroke or something that I missed? He was definitely off somehow.
And it's about time the did a story on CEMJ's trial, though I wish they'd have focused the whole time on the "fans."

Just crossed the newswire:
The Daily Show DVD will be in stores June 28th. Three DVD box set containing their coverqge of both political conventions, the debates, election night and other highlights from the campaign.
Sometimes prayers are answered even though I do not want to reminded of the Kerry campaign.

I was looking forward to this, but I really don't want to be reminded of the election. I still hope it does well so we get more DVDs of other, non-suicide-inducing stuff.

Ah, Jon. You are so adorable. And winner of another Peabody; yay!
Last night cutie-pie Matthew McBongo was on promoting Sahara. Earlier that day, he had been on Good Morning America; he was wearing a suit and tie, and was cute and articulate. Cut to TDS, and...he's wearing jeans, boots, an old shirt with sunglasses hanging by the buttons, and a Sahara baseball cap. And MM was baked. This is why I love TDS: stoned celebs, some real news, and lots of humor.

I'm a big fan. I love him. Brilliantly funny. It's the best way to get the news. He pegs the way things are exactly.
Damn. I missed TDS again tonight and last night.
Jon seems like he'd be agreat actor. He should make movies.
