I like the bit he did comparing Donald Trump to horrible African leaders, especially when he went off on Trump in one of the African languages, complete with clicking, but said "Mexican rapists" in English. Then he said, "Sorry, we don't have words for Mexican rapists." I looked to see what language he was speaking, but he speaks English, German, Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho, and Afrikaans according to Wikipedia, so I don't know which of the four African languages he was speaking. I was impressed with the clicking, though.
(I might be easily impressed.)

Off topic: I use this clip about the N|u language (related to Xhosa) to explain some of the phonemes, and also some details of language loss. The linguistics part is within the first 50 seconds, but the rest may require a hanky). Anyway, topic? I think Trevor Noah could go places. I had no idea who he was before he signed, but I was definitely aware of Jon Stewart when he started. Anyone signed to the position would have had to rebuild the show, so it's kind of extra interesting to start with almost no expectations.

I LOOOOOVED the comparison of Trump to the African dictators! Great stuff! The burn factor was especially satisfying. Trevor Noah: 1; Donald Trump: 0

What's also great about the Donald Trump segment is it allowed Trevor to bring his international perspective and differentiate himself from Jon. Let's face it odds are Jon would never watch Donald Trump and think, "He's acting a lot like an African dictator!" Not to mention even if Jon did think that it would be nearly impossible for him to do a segment on it without coming across as racist.

I knew of Trevor before TDS through his standup act. He's been on BBC's Live at the Apollo and I thought he was fantastic on there. He talks a bit at the beginning about growing up in SA during the apartheid era and also his international experiences being black. It's definitely worth watching the clip.

I thought his piece last night on if the GOP "Pro-Life" Candidates actually did something where the facts were on their side, was amazing. Funny--but an accurate piece on "Hey, maybe start worrying about the people who are here and getting injured by the very guns you fight so hard to protect".

I liked the part where he compared pro-lifers to people who collect comic books. It's only worth something when it's in the package, take it out and then it's not worth anything.
I am madly in love with Trevor. I didn't think anyone could replace John but he has, and by using his own style.
