I read on a website that the fate of the show will be decided by the ratings for final 7 eps of the season.

I saw a UPN ad claim that the show had over 30 million viewers. Yeah, I'm calling bullshit on that one.

Yeah, I love this show, but it is lucky to get 3 million, and I don't think UPN could ever dream of 30 million - very, very few shows can.
This tv season has been so depressing since my three favorite shows (this one, Arrested Development and Joan of Arcadia) are all in danger of cancellation.

Joan being in danger of cancellation surprises me.
I don't know where UPN is getting the 31 million viewers, either.

It surprises me too about Joan, but there it is. I think CBS would be stupid to get rid of their one drama that isn't a crime-related show and about the only drama they have that has real youth appeal on the "old fogey" network, but whatever.
I hope VM comes back next year. Seriously, UPN has nothing that comes close to the level of media buzz this show creates. It seems that should at least buy them one more season.

Unfortunately this show is getting dismal ratings, so no matter how great we all think it is, UPN can only support it for so long without viewers. What I don't understand is why they don't give it a different time slot since so many people insist on watching that crapfest American Idol.

They need to switch it Monday or Thursday nights. If it gets cancelled, maybe MTV or HBO could pick it up.

AI is Tuesday at 8, VM is Tuesday at 9. Part of the problem, I think, is that the methods for determining viewership are outdated and inaccurate. Plus, too many people still watch crap like Everybody Loves Raymond and Joey instead of gems like Veronica. For some reason, though, I think it will get renewed. UPN has a lot of faith in the show.

It will get renewed, most def, but the problem is making sure that their is an audience for next season. The good news is that Kristen will be in a horror film called pulse and the publicity for that will most likely help the show. The other thing is, Kristen needs to do way more mag profiles-stuff like teen people, seventeen, cosmo girl, elle girl and teen vogue.

The problem is that it's up against House (YOU'RE RISKING A PATIENT'S LIFE!!!!), The Amazing Race (Which F'ing rocks, and I have a friend tape), and Scrubs.
For me, that sucks. There are so many hours of prime time TV that I don't watch, so why not put VM there? However, the depth of my love for this show will make me put anything else on the back-burner. I've tried to pimp this show to so many of my friends, but they're just so not interested. Which almost makes me not want to be friends with them.
