I totally missed this post earlier (sorry, cyclonevkc). The sister-in-law is named Gillian (who now seems sane compared to the rest of them) and the annoying little girl is Lauren. Whom I also can't stand. As I posted on that other site, I wish the writers would give that brat a terrible illness and kill her off "tragically." That would earn them my viewing loyalty forever.

Michelle Fucking Tanner owns this thread. Her cute-isms drive me up a wall to this day.

I was watching the ETHS of Full House and one of the EPs said people loved when Michelle said "You Got it Dude." That shit drove me nuts as a 12 year. She was by far my least favorite on that show.

Sonny from GH. He was a good anti-hero back in the day, but then Maurice Benard started believing his own press and it was all down hill from there. Everyone kisses the ass of the town mobster, good people are looked at as being bad people because they disagree with him, women are treated as whores and baby factories, and his oily ass ruins my show every fucking day. And don't even get me started on his psychotic fans.

I always really despised Paul's mother, Sylvia Buchman, on Mad About You. I don't like marriage and am not planning on acquiring in-laws of my own and I think this is why I don't have a special hate-on for annoying MILs generally and don't normally get all hepped up about fictional incarnations of them on t.v. but damn. I despised Sylvia. Mainly because of the way she treated Jamie. Constantly picking on her, even when Jamie was pregnant. I mean really. In response to Jamie's morning sickness, Sylvia told Jamie about how when Sylvia was pregnant she could just "will" the nausia away and then remarked to husband Burt and Paul, neither of whom bothered to stick up for Jamie, "she's not the strongest girl." Ack. Hate. Plus, there was that little matter of Sylvia's constant passive-aggressive bitchiness all the time. Did I mention the hate?

Ya know, I disliked Carrie but never to the degree of frothing rage triggered by some of the people on Six Feet Under or The Soprano's. Guess I must be weird. Still, those Gap ads bug me because I can't stand how she thinks she's so hot, sexy and desirable. As my mother once said -- God bless her --- SJP's bow legged and she's annoying as hell. (It was after one of her endless Golden Globe or Emmy speeches).

Speaking of annoying ads, the Ditech guy was always head and shoulders above the rest, especially the very early ad that creeped me out like hell when the security guard crept up on the guy in the office around midnight.

Judging Amy -- I actually like the mother because she's a blunt smartass who tells it like it is. That includes telling whiny, self-absorbed Amy to get over her (irritating) self. Vincent, the brother, bugs me more than Gillian because he's so into being the victim and running away from anything emotionally heavy. He reminds me of highschool guys who just can't handle anything negative, only he's in his 30s and is supposedly a genius.

As for the kid, Lauren, I've wanted to string her up by her toenails for over a season now. When a friend of mine told me about 3 yrs ago what a spoilt pest she was, I didn't see it and justified it away. Man, have I eaten humble crow. Lauren is enough to make someone reconsider parenthood! What a f*****g self-absorbed, spoilt, ill-mannered little prima donna.

I used to think it was the writers who made the brat unpleasant but, now, I'm going to be myopic and unrealistic, and think it's whiny, self-absorbed, prima donna Amy who has turned her daughter into The Bride of Frankenstein. I hate Amy. She ruins all relationships, she runs all decent men away, then she whines about her life, while outsiders worship her toenails for being so smart, put-together and accomplished; then she whines some more about not being all that they've complimented her about; then she whines about her mother or her daughter; then she's whined (pun intended) and dined by some great guy whom she has issues with for no apparent reason; then the show ends on her giving some great, heavy, serious, worthy advice and everyone adoring her.

It's enough to make me vomit. She seriously needs to stop executive producing the show because, the way things are going, her character does nothing but act sanctimonious, whine and bleat. Especially bleat.

{Sorry for the vent. I didn't know I had it in me but obviously, I've built up some huge latent hostility towards the F*****g character. I'd be ashamed but I'm not.}

Four pages and no mention of Lana Lang? Oh, that's right, because Smallville is so lame no one watches it anymore.

Lana is the perfect waitress, business owner, track star, tutor, equestrian, ninja, you name it. GAH! Hate. Her. One ep, she's a damsel in distress, another she's kicking ass of a guy twice her size. She harps and fucking harps on everyone abandoning her, her dead parents and secrets and lies! Every male and FOTW in SV is in love with her.

And don't even get me started on this seasons tatoo/witch possession storyline.

And Ross... dude, you're smart. We get it. Stop trying to work paleontology into every other sentence. If grown up people wanted to talk about dinosaurs all the time we'd be up to Jurassic Park 10 by now.

See, he was supposedly a biological anthropologist--with a specialty in studying ancient humans. Thus him in (the laughably bad) Neandertal exhibit at the museum. As my major is paleoanthro, every time they worked his career into a plot I cringed. Couldn't they have spent like 2 minutes making a phone call or surfing the internet to make him credible? It was like the writers said "Let's make him an anthropologist--that's cool", without ever thinking it further. Oh, and if you have a PhD in anthro and all you do is make bad museum exhibits, you SUCK.
