I think if I was watching it as a totally fictious story I'm not sure I'd stay with it some of the scripts and accents are a bit iffy, but for me its fascinating and a reminder of just how much history that The Queen has stood alongside as it happened and continues to happen and She is still here.
edit I'm a blueblood now! Yay! rather suitable I become one while one posts about The Crown, one thinksđ

I have no interest in The Crown at all. But then I have no interest in most of the shows on Netflix that everyone buzzes about. Iâve never seen a single episode of Stranger Things, Narcos, Mindhunter, or any of the Marvel shows. I mostly just watch Family Guy and various true crime shows on there.

I wanted to love The Crown. I love history, and documentaries and films about history so The Crown ought to be right up my street. Instead, I found it dull and boring. I watched the whole thing and it was a chore.
I'm not even going to bother with season 2.

Dragging this thread up from the deeps to say that I didn't 100% understand the Nanette hype. Before I get banned--Hannah Gadsby is definitely an amazing public speaker, her control over the audience is stunning to watch, and the 'pure comedy' bits, if you will, were very, very funny and creative. But! Perhaps because I watched it after there had been a lot of hype, I was really expecting her to say something that felt like a revelation, or something I had never heard before and instead it felt like a better-delivered version of a conversation I have had a million times in the last two years. I understand that it is very different from what people expect from a comedy show and I do see the value in having this sort of content delivered in an unexpected yet mainstream format, but I guess the value I see is far outpaced by the hype. On a completely unrelated note I also thought her assessment of comedy didn't take into account the history of Jewish comedy in the U.S. at ALL and since she so purposely availed herself of an American audience and was making (I think) broad statements about comedy as a whole, I thought that was a pretty significant oversight.
I am (probably obviously) hoping at least one other person felt this way! My reaction is so different to the reaction I have seen basically everywhere that I keep feeling like someone will tell me I accidentally didn't watch the last half of it or something.

Pretty much my feeling. I also agree with you on "The Crown".

For those of you who didn't enjoy Nanette, you might be interested in listening to TLo's podcast from this week: When You Donât Love What Everyone Else Does. They don't like the new queer eye or Nanette. They have a really thoughtful discussion about why they don't like either of these, and I can see their point in both cases. (The Nanette discussion is the final chunk of the podcast, if you want to skip directly to that.)

I hate Gilmore Girls. Tried it back in the day, hated the two leads and decided that the show made me unreasonably angry while watching (I obviously have problems).
I also tried The Crown but it bored me so so much. I'm tempted to watch the next season because I love the new cast.

I feel like I'm stalking you, but I'm really harmless, I swear! If you have problems, I do, too. I hate the Gilmore Girls--I tried it, hated everyone, hate them all more now, wanted to hide from the entire planet once they got rebooted and everyone who never stopped talking about them/it the first time got a fresh wind and started all over again. And I hate the spelling of Lorelai.

I am nowhere near that annoying when I talk.
