I'm glad someone else feels the A-holes love. I think my favorite sketch is the one where they go to the travel agent and the female a-hole is like "I wanna go there . . ." and points at a poster. The camera pans out and the travel agent (Matt Dillon) says "That's a photo of a plane" and the guy is like "Yeah, can we go there. Is that good this season?" Heh. My favorite bit was when she wanted to go to Hogwarts and the agent is all, "But it doesn't really exist!" and she couldn't care less.

I think Matt Dillon's been the best of the A-Holes' opponents (victims?).

I also love the Aholes because their delivery is pitch perfect and they are a (slight) exaggeration of people I know in real life.

Count me in on the A-Holes love!
I love the way male a-hole is totally unflappable and (to borrow from CTC) glib. When girl a-hole makes completely inane requests (asking for donuts, copies of her keys, stop for spray-tans, meet inspector gadget), guy a-hole just runs with it.
I also loved Keenan in the opening sketch, as the national guardsman. For some reason he totally cracked my sh** up when he said, "You know what happens when you see garbage on the side of the road [along the US-Mexican border]?...Ya leave it!", complete with sing-song hand gestures. Really funny.

Oh yay, since everyone loves the A-holes, I won't feel ashamed at admitting my all-consuming Jason Sudekis (the guy A-hole) lust. Yes, I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but man, he is tall. And broad-shouldered. And tall. Seriously, seeing him in a tight wrestling singlet pretty much earned the TV Funhouse special a "KEEP FOREVER" spot on my TiVo. And having watched AI for the first time recently, his Taylor Hicks impression on Weekend Update is awesome.
I skipped a lot of sketches this/last week, but the Samburg/Spacey Usual Suspects takeoff that reached the heights of absurdity ("I felt guilty?") was so funny I had to rewatch it about five times. I have to give SNL its small props for doing a lot of sketches this season that might not play in Peoria but are totally amusing to devoted fans of the hosts -- this, Alec Baldwin doing Glengarry Glen Ross with Christmas Elves (even he lost it), Peter Sarsgaard exposing journalistic scandal ala Shattered Glass at Cat Fancy (so. many. kitties.) It may not be 100% funny ha ha but I think it's creative and cool -- and good to work with the hosts like this. That said, putting someone like Tom Brady in briefs works too.

Hunter, I have a huge Jason Sudeikis crush as well.
He was in a wrestling singlet and I missed it! Damn it all to Hell!

Bumping to tell Swan that tonight's the one with him in a wrestling singlet. Hopefully you can tune in on time! It's about midway through -- it's the best of TV Funhouse, but there are skits of Ace & Gary.

I came home Saturday night at 1:45 and was stoked to discover that at 2 a.m. on the St. Louis NBC affiliate, they're playing old SNL. I watched most of some random ep from 1988 w/ Judge Reinhold (?) as the host. It was great! I feel like E! plays the same reruns constantly. The Halle Berry/Britney Spears ep was on the other day AGAIN. I think I've seen that one on like 4 times in the last few months.

I used to love watching SNL reruns when they were on Comedy Central, mainly because they mostly showed episodes from the Chris Farley/Mike Myers/Phil Hartman days in the early 90's. Those were so funny! Now that E! has the rights to the reruns, they kind of overlook the funny and show crap like JLo over and over and over.... But it's nice to know that the NBC affiliates will show episodes that E! won't (Judge Reinhold was airing in San Francisco as well).

SusyHomewrecker, the only time I catch those classic (and I do mean classic) late '80s/early '90s eps on E! is when they play them late at night, like at 3 a.m. or something. It's so annoying. Lindsey Lohan is not funny, and neither is Paris Hilton. Enough.
