On the one hand, boo! for Chris Parnell leaving. But on the other hand, YAY YAY YAY for Horatio "no talent" Sanz finally getting axed.

Yeah, I'm gonna miss Parnell. I hope he finds something else soon. But I'm not gonna miss Sanz. At all.

Awww, come on! We can't get rid of Horatio Sanz AND keep Chris Parnell? It's like a deal with the devil - "You can get rid of Sanz, BUT.... you have to give up Parnell too! MUUUHAAHAAAHAAA!!!"

Horatio Sanz was unbearably unfunny. His absence ensures, at the very least, 300 pounds less suck.
I wonder who will do weekend update now?

I heard that the most likely scenario right now is that Seth Meyers will be joining Amy Poehler at the update desk. I loves me some Meyers so that'd be cool.

It's so awesome that Horatio is leaving. So, so awesome.
Also, I'm glad Finesse is leaving- I never thought he was that funny. Plus, this means Kenan is staying, woot, woot!

Did anyone watch the season opener? I tivoed it and honestly when I got home I was too tired to watch most of it so I watched the opening credits (Yeah! Sanz really is gone!) and then I watched some of weekend update. I get a rash and a strong desire to kill people when I watch Dane Cook so I doubt I'll watch the rest of it but I'm looking forward to next week with Jamie Pressley.
I thought it was lackluster but then again, this is after only watching bits & pieces of it all. I thought Seth did a passable job on Weekend Update. It seems like the anchors always need a few weeks to hit their stride. I even thought that about Tina & Amy initially.

It was definitely lackluster. I think I laughed out loud twice. One of those was when NBC anchor Brian Williams came on to read the Nightly News with Amy Poehler.
ETA: Darrell Hammond was back.

I love Dane Cook, so I TiVoed it. And fell asleep five minutes into the show. It was that boring and unfunny.

I honestly thought they were purposely trying to be unfunny. I actually said to my husband, "seriously, are they doing this on purpose?"
Baa-aaa-aaad.
