I knew the SNL Season Premiere sucked when Brian Williams was funnier than Dane Cook.

I thought Maya Rudolph was gone? But she was a huge presence last night.

She was gone last season during her pregnancy leave and is back now.
Why did they save the best sketch (which, not coincidentally, Dane wasn't in) for last? Geico, Whitney Houston, priceless.

I know she was off for her pregnancy, but I could've sworn I read that after her short stint back last season she was leaving permanently to do something....another TV show or film work or something.

I did catch that and thought it was pretty funny. Which is odd because I generally find Maya Rudolph's impressions to be horrible. I really think she's just bad bad bad at impersonating people. She just throws on a different wig and squints her eyes in virtually all of them whether she's Condi or Whitney.
But that one was funny.

I haven't watched this show in years. I TiVo'd it last night so I could see The Killers perform. I thought I'd try to watch—but after that brutally painful, unfunny first "sketch" had no point or punchline, I super fast-forwarded to the Killers.
I wish they'd just cancel this show and put it out of its misery.

I think that's why it sucks so very much. There's no threat of cancellation. I thought the premiere was painful. I mean, it would probably have been worse with Tina Fey and Horatio Sanz, but it was awful as it was.

I don't see it ever getting cancelled. Just for the sheer fact that I'm sure it does a pretty good job in that time slot from year to year (even though some years are certainly less funny than others). What else would they put there? Deal or No Deal reruns?

Most of what I saw what painfully bad. But I do think Seth Myers did just fine. (But then, I kinda have a crush on him, so...)
