I loved the Bodega sketch! It was just so random, filled with great songs, and little Audrey! Oompa loompas! Swimming rats! Singing cockroaches! Virgin Mary candle! Bodega cat! I’d put it at top 10 sketches of all time! That was my favorite too, it just kept going and got funnier along the way. Great episode, I guess it helps to have a former writer hosting! Bill Hader was perfect as the game show host in the first sketch, the hair, the facial expressions and the tone of voice were just spot on.

The sketch with Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant selling meat from animals who were stupid jerks who never did anything cute in a youtube video has come up in conversation for me 3 times today so that was probably my favorite. Anytime you have a sketch that has Kate the Great on the verge of breaking up, you've got a winner. And Bodega Bathroom was absolutely epic--when I posted the link on Facebook, everyone started reminiscing about how much it reminded them of Lobster Diner, and I had to post that one as well John Mulaney is a national treasure. That is all.

My only complaint about the episode was that there was no Stefon. Bill Hader was there! How could they not?!
I’m assuming that the meat platter was left unrefrigerated for too long, hence the smell making everyone break. I’m amazed that they got through that bit at all.

There was a photo going around of Mulaney as Stefon's conceptual piss artist lawyer, Shy, so I think they did a Stefon bit in dress rehearsal but it got cut for time.
A lot of the sketches in this episode and Mulaney's last episode were things he wrote 10 years ago that never got on the air, including the Death Toilet Ejector and Diner Lobster. What's That Name is also one that he wrote.

The last two episodes of the season were kinda blah, IMO. I feel like they should have ended with Adam Sandler's episode, that one really got to me for sentimental reasons. It wasn't a perfect episode, but there were funny skits and the opening song and especially the Chris Farley song at the end were really good.

Yes, I was really disappointed by the Emma Thompson episode because I expected it to be funnier since that was her first time hosting, but except for "Chopped" and "The Perfect Mother", I found it pretty meh overall. I guess my expectations were too high. I found the Paul Rudd episode a bit better, but again that might have because my expectations weren't as high. Still sort of meh like going back to the well again for the time travel sketch and "The View" segment so soon, but "What's Wrong With This Picture" and Paul Rudd walking in on Leslie and Kyle made me laugh a lot. Plus, it had Leslie Jones's monologue about abortion and the recent abortion laws during Weekend Update, so that gets some bonus points from me. Still I feel it probably would have been better if the Adam Sandler episode was the last one of the season as I felt that they would have went out on a high note there.

Leslie's out, y'all.. It's a bummer, I'll miss her having such a regular platform. Maybe this means she'll have time to do commentaries for all of Game of Thrones alongside Seth Meyers. (I know it won't happen but let me have my dreams.) Good news- Kate McKinnon is coming back. Yay! Her Elizabeth Warren is killer.

I'm really going to miss Leslie. She's not great at impressions, but she's just funny.
It's not like I want Kate McKinnon gone or anything, but she's SO incredibly overrated. She's reverted back to some old, bad habits (making bug eyes to drive a punch line home). I'm sick of her getting so much glory when I really enjoy so many of the other women more (Cecily Strong, Aidy Bryant, Heidi Gardner, and Vanessa Bayer when she was still on the show) and they get so much less credit.

Eddie Murphy is hosting this season. This made me irrationally happy for some reason. I don't think he hosted after he left, but if he did, it probably was more than 30 years ago. I wonder will he revive some of his classic skits like Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood, Velvet Jones, or White Like Me.
