I'll agree that Debbie Downer is never funny. Well, actually it was fairly funny that very first time but it certainly doesn't deserve to be a recurring sketch.
I wasn't surprised that Rob Riggle is gone. I like the two new guys and I must confess I laughed at "Hey everybody I'm Julia Roberts--I've been in a ton of movies and Whazzzzaaap!" Heh. I'm easy.
But Horatio Sanz? Ugh. HATE. He cracks up during every sketch and his comic timing is hideous. I saw him on that Asssssscat special on Bravo and he sucked on that too. Just total suckage. Why in the world is he filling in for Tina? I wish they'd given that spot to Seth Myers or even Chris Parnal.

Tina Fey didn't quit. She's on maternity leave. She should be back in a few months. So Horatio isn't permanently replacing her? There is a God.

I don't remember Horatio laughing at himself at all this epi (though he did smile while singing as Neville Carter). He is sort of taking baby steps away from sucking!
He's sooo wrong for Weekend Update-- but I can't get too worked up over that segment since I rarely find it funny.

Unpopular opinion coming....but I happen to adore Will Ferrell and I do find him hilarious. The show goes thru its dark times, it'll come back, I am sure.

I disagree. Will Forte's particular brand of Bush sounds exactly like him during the 'o4 Presidential debates. It wasn't about smugness or cockiness. Bush was down right whiny, awkward and repetitive. But I also like Ferrell's Bush and Caliendo's Bush. I believe they're all pretty accurate.

I did not watch the entire episode, because I fell asleep at around 12:10. Not because it was boring (in fact I was upset I missed a good portion of the show) but because I was in bed and was tired - it's impossible for me to watch TV while lying down without falling asleep in 30 minutes.
So what did I miss?

When did Saturday Night Live become just SNL? Are they going the KFC route? Is Saturday the new "fried"? Haven't watched it in ages since the last few times I did watch it I was cringing in embarrasment for all involved.

This week's episode blew. I think I mildly smiled in one of the later skits but that's it. John Heder or whatever his name is has the strangest line delivery... he always sounds like he's out of breath and stumbling/messing up his lines. I think he might stay permenently as Napoleon Dynamite and random friend #2 in romantic comedies. Oh, and Asslee is still not good, but that is being rehashed in her thread.
I was reminded that this show used to make me occasionally giggle once upon a time-- probably because they aired an amusing SNL rerunwith Ben Stiller right after this week's show. Remember Molly Shannon? Will Ferrell? That spazzy little dog woman... um, Cheri Oteri? I can't believe I'm nostalgic for them because at the time I didn't think those years were that great. I guess SNL always sort of sucks-- it's just a matter of degree. Right now it seems to be around/apporaching the Garafalo year level.

I think it's surpassed the Garofalo season in suckitude. I gave up on last night's episode in the middle of the politican road trip sketch. Sleeping seemed like more fun.

Haven't watched it in ages since the last few times I did watch it I was cringing in embarrasment for all involved. It's just the need for lazy people to abbreviate things (myself included). I fell asleep again this week! You think I would have learned by now not to watch TV in bed with the lights off, but no. Tina Fey needs to return soon. Horatio Sanz is so unfunny, especially so in Weekend Update.
