Only the manic glee of Amy Poehler is worth watching now. Even though it was obviously set up, I lost it when she broke out "Baby Got Back" in Weekend Update. I feel bad for everyone who fell asleep or gave up because the funniest skits were the last two or three (I've learned the power of TiVo), the capper being a priceless parody commercial for hiring the Black Eyed Peas for any corporate event! Amy did a perfect Fergie doing "Let's Get Bar Mitvahed!"

Worst episode I've ever seen. Jon Heder (?) sucked the life out of every sketch. I went to bed at midnight. huntergrayson, I agree that Amy Poehler is a bright spot, but her Kaitlin sketch wasn't even funny last night.

I watched last night for the first time in years and I just had to give inin the middle of it. Right around the sketch where the napolean dynamite guy was on a mexican talk show. The whole sketch was:
host: your movie wasn't funny ND: yes it was host: no it wasn't ND: yes it was
Maybe they should stop writing the show on Friday night.

Amy Poehler is the only bright spot on the show, but her being in every single sketch (or so it seems) is a bit of overkill. They need to find some more women, especially since both Tina and Maya are having babies.

I thought Joh Heder was horrid. Obviously reading the cue cards (he must have used all his 'subtlety' up on that wretched ND film) AND every sketch I caught him in, he muffed the lines. Then of course more lip syncing from the 'musical' guest. Amy is the only reason to watch lately. The Fergie thing was spot on and I hope they repeat that. Imagine Amy as...."Fergie goes to the dr. for urinary problems" ;()

I agree with y'all. He was BAD. No comic timing and it seemed like he hadn't even seen the script before it was written on the cue cards.
About the only time he got any laughs was when he was doing Napolean Dynomite.

Seriously! I was waiting for Amy Poehler's Fergie to piss her pants on that skit. That later skits were a bit funnier than the earlier ones, but that's not saying much...

Wow! Did we even watch the same show??? I thought it was funny, I laughed out loud. I thought the Napolian Dynamite guy was great, especially the skit where he turned into a wherewolf (sp).
No comic timing? Come on now, are you serious? The guy was a hoot. He has a cult following and it is because everyone else thinks he's funny.
Maybe you guys are missing something? Different types of humor from different comedians, that monotone thing he has going on is just his schtick.

Hi and welcome to the boards, Jon Heder's mom and/or publicist. Just giving you a hard time. The film was very divisive and tended to be a love it or hate it thing so Heder himself tends to inspire the same reactions. Not having seen ND , I was not impressed -- comedians do have their own shtick, but he's just some amateur who got lucky. Meanwhile, I can not wait for Catherine Zeta-Jones. Has she ever hosted before? I don't recall that she has. I hope that she is unafraid to be a big old beyotch and have a sense of humor about herself.

Is she next week? I wonder if they're going to green-screen her into each sketch like they do for the T-Mobile ads.
