Yippee!!!!
Carter is back tonight. Which means I'll be watching my very first new ER episode since season 6.
Definately worth bumping the ER thread to page 1.
At least in my opinion.

I only caught the last ten minutes. If they're bringing Carter back just to kill him off, I'm going to be pissed.

Ughh. You won't be the only one. I will destroy all my ER DVD's. Carter has had a rough time. They all have, true, but Carter is nearest and dearest to my heart. I want him to have happiness.
I'm selfish when it comes to him. Let the others suffer. But let Carter be happy!!!!!

Did anybody else watch the All Star Reunion? It gave me the warm fuzzies, even Benton and his checklist of awesomeness.
Loved how NBC, hamstrung by Clooney's proviso that they not pimp his appearance, has been running promos all week: shot of Hathaway, Carter, and Benton and "ALL your friends are back this week. ALLLLLLL of them."

I got a little teary-eyed at the end. Benton/Carter. Doug and Carol. It was just so much awesomeness. I liked what they did with the characters. It wasn't cheesy. It was old school ER, and I loved it.

I loved that they played the Doug/Carol theme at the end.
And I was VERY surprised by the amount of screentime they got. I was thinking Carol would get a couple short scenes and then at the very end, Doug would appear in a short scene. Just a little something to let us know they are still together.
And benton/Carter still have more chemistry with each other then they ever did with anybody else. Benton has always been protective of Carter. And he stepped right back into that role without missing a beat.
NOBODY better mess with Carter when Benton is around.

Yeah, I enjoyed the way they did it too. Very casual, no drama about Doug and Carol. I was totally lost on everything else though because I haven't watched in years and only tuned in for the reunions. Why isn't Carter telling his wife (?) about his problems?

Margojata, I think Carter isn't telling his wife (or whatever) about his problems because she's not longer in the picture and he doesn't want anyone to know. Remember, when he left the show, they had kind of split, the cause being that she needed space to get herself together after the baby (or something like that). I remember him talking to her about the clinic or whatever in memorial of him, but that's all. Maybe I missed something, though.

I was in heaven. Mr. Spin couldn't understand why. "ALL THE GOOD PEEPS ARE BACK, Mister!"
I was pleased with the way it all turned out and I loved Benton and that checklist. You go, Peter! That transplant head doctor was a dick! I'd take Peter Benton in my next surgery anyday of the week.
From the clip for the next episode, they showed the wall with name tags of all the doctors/nurses who have left, but I didn't see Carter's. I can't remember, but was there a reason for that?

Carter wouldn't leave his because it was county property is what I think Haleh indicated earlier. It sounded like typical straight edge Carter reasoning.
