The thing that struck me is even though you know Carter is in ALOT of pain, he kept asking about Lucy. Poor guy. And I'm sure the image of her lying there in a pool of blood struggling to stay alive still haunts him.
After all the shit that's happened there I cannot imagine why in the hell Carter would want to go back to County General. So many bad memories. All of his friends have moved on and started their lives over away from County. And yet he keeps coming back.

Well I think the real answer to that question is that Noah Wyle is apparently the only original cast member that seems to know that if your name isn't George Clooney and you got your big break on ER, your career is toast when you're not on it anymore.

My favorite part of the Carter/Benton story was when Carter had a substance abuse problem, he was shooting up and when confronted, Carter always rolled up his sleeves and said he wasn't doing drugs. It was Benton who knew Carter was shooting into his bellybutton and made him pull up his shirt. I think Carter punched Benton? But I do remember that it was Benton who took Carter, on the plane to rehab.

The Gant story always stuck with me. Carter was so upset and convinced that Gant wouldn't have killed himself if Benton hadn't pushed him so hard, I remember Carter in tears shoving Benton and yelling at him, and the look on Benton's face after Carter left. It must've been a tough scene to do.
::sigh:: This is making me all nostalgic for the days when this was the best show on TV

Was that the one where they beeped him and he did not show up and then they realized that the patient's beeper was going off and it was him?

That's the one. And I think Gant was played by Omar Epps, who's now on House.

That's the one. And I think Gant was played by Omar Epps, who's now on House. Yes indeed. Which is why I will always and forever confuse him with Mekhi Pfeiffer, especially now that both of their characters on ER got killed off.

Oh man. I remember the Gant episode. That was another, "No. Way." moment. ER was so good at those in the early years. And the helicopter falling on the dude. That was both disturbing and awesome.
What happened to Mekhi Pfeiffer's character?

What happened to Mekhi Pfeiffer's character? He died from injuries sustained in an ambulance explosion. The ambulance was transporting a patient that was in the witness protection program. Mob found out about the patient, ambulance blew up, and Greg died in this season's premiere. Very sad because he was going to be named the new chief of the ER. Which is why we now have Angela Bassett as the new chief.

Ah, the good ol' ER days.
Kellie Martin and Noah Wyle's on-screen relationship was just gold. The Valentine's Day massacre episode(s) were just heart wrenching. Poor Lucy!!
And GANT! God. That shit was sad, too. I'm a huge Carter/Benton fan and I think that their relationship was one of the reasons I stayed watching for so long, well that, and all the original regulars.
Are there going to be more cameos this week?
