Sherry Stringfield is supposed to show up at some point, I don't know about anyone else.

Yep. Just about everybody is coming back for the ending.
BOO!!!!! Abby is in this weeks episode. I never liked her very much. Carrie Weaver and Susan Lewis will be in the finale. And Benton will also be back in the finale. I saw the promo pics so that's how I know all that. And then, I notice ER isn't even TRYING to keep the guest stars under wraps. The only one they didn't talk about was George Clooney. I knew he was coming back but I had no idea he would be in so much of the episode. So that was a surprise.

These episodes featuring the departed characters bring home to me the fact that this show should have ended several seasons ago.

These episodes featuring the departed characters bring home to me the fact that this show should have ended several seasons ago. Oh, that is so true. I have to wonder if they'll do some sort of 'flashback' again like they did with Greene as a seque with Basset's character or a montage. They seem to get a little saccharin sweet with the touching moments.

And the only reason they didn't pimp George Clooney was because he made it a condition that they not use his name or face in the promos. Otherwise you just know the promos would've been all about The Return of Doug Ross.

I haven't watched this in a coupla seasons, but the transplant episode made me tear up. I gotta say again, music cues get me every time. The Doug/Carol music put me over the edge. And the Benton/Carter storyline was excellent. Loved it.

Thursday is the big farewell. It just looks so good. This will remain in my DVR for a long time.

I'm honestly weepy about Thursday. Even when I drifted in and out of the series...This was seriously a good show. I have no idea what will replace it.

I feel I said goodbye to this show long ago. However, I have my tissues ready just in case. I am getting a feeling this may be a sad/happy finale of epic proportions. I keep thinking about how I cried my ass off during the final minutes of Six Feet Under. And the weird thing is, I had never seen a single episode of the show. But yet, I still bawled my eyes out. ER may be the one show that can beat out SFU in terms of emotional final episodes. The acting and writing had better be top notch tonight. ETA....episode just went off here on the east coast. What the fuck? THIS is the finale? Most of the scenes with the Oldies were already released in the promo videos. So there were no surprises there. I was expecting this to be one hell of an ending. I didn't even tear up. Lord have mercy, I'm disappointed as hell.

I enjoyed the retrospective and the final episode, and I was surprised at my nostalgia and sadness.
The retro was good, and I loved seeing the clips from Clooney's last real episodes. I forgot about that "beep" or buzz sound cue that ran throughout that story arc about the dying child he helped die - just hearing it for a second totally took me back to when that show ended and how intense ER was then. And they played that clip where right after Doug quits he tells Carol that he has nothing left in Chicago and she gets upset and stamps her foot and says she doesnt' want to wake up in the morning....priceless. Those were the days, man.
And the clip from Love's Labor Lost.....gosh, forgot how impactful that all was.
I liked the final epi - SPOILER
not everything was perfect but most it was great. I liked Alexis Bledel as the female young Dr. Carter, and I liked that Carter mentored Dr. Green's daughter. It all came full circle and I thought that was a very good note to end on.
But I'm a bit sad....
