Why would they ever recast Ned? Wally is available and great! UGH! He's not, though. Days of Our Lives offered him a contract, so their gain is GH's loss. Also, given how skewed this show is I shouldn't be surprised that everyone is on the "Jordan is such an awful person for BEING A COP AND NOT A CRIMINAL" but that doesn't make it any less annoying. Poor, wittle Seanie--the hitman who couldn't hit the Great Wall of China if he was standing right in front of it--is hurt that Jordan got his ass arrested. Boo-friggin-hoo.

Wally signed a contract with Days so he is no longer an option. I heard GH offered him one but Days offered more $.
I'm not sure which one - Days or GH - will get canceled first.
There's not one writer available who is any better. Soaps are totally inbred.

I am so tired of the new characters on this show. I'm also tired of old characters doing things totally out of character (Nik ordering a hit, for example.). Blah

Jonathan Jackson and 'dude who played Ethan' are both coming back this summer, too, presumably to see Tony Geary off. I'm old as dirt, so I still remember when Lucky was introduced and Ruby told him "you look just like your mother" and his reply was "that's why my dad says I'm lucky." Awww, good times, good times.

What are they going to do to Luke to get rid of him?

What are they going to do to Luke to get rid of him? I haven't watched this show since Jack (Frisco) Wagner's "All I Need" was a real world radio hit. I am also old. I remember (vaguely, I wasn't watching that early on) that Luke started his tenure by raping Laura. In MY farewell scenario, Laura remembers and gets pissed and goes postal on him.

However, it was Shawn who taught her to shoot and she missed, instantly killing Sonny who was standing beside Luke.

She already remembered and forgave him. Cause true love. The issue was addressed back in the late 80s or early 90s when Luke and Laura's kids became aware of the rape. I remember it being handled maturely, but I was a teenager back then, so what did I know from mature? The scenes are on You Tube somewhere. I wish I had time to watch them. I really miss the old pre-mob GH. I faithfully DVR the show to play my little part in keeping it from being cancelled, but at this point I just read the descriptions of the episodes and almost always pass on bothering to watch. Everything seems very mob-centric just based on the synopses. Am I wrong? Someone please tell me when General Hospital starts being about the hospital again.

That storyline was in 1998, so GH was already mob-centric, but point taken that it wasn't AS mob-centric as it is today. It's crazy, but as good a writer as Claire Labine was, and for all the great stories she wrote (Monica's cancer, BJ's heart, Robin/Stone/HIV) she also is responsible for Sonny, aka the Tiny Mobster Who Ate Port Charles.
