Is anyone watching this show? They took my beloved BOSTON LEGAL off for this and apparently rating are swell. I hate the voiceovers, the Lilith Fair accompaniment music week and Patrick Dempsey's attempt at smug bastard ain't workin', bless is heart.
Let us discuss.

I tried watching it once and couldn't stand it. I hate that it's so popular...it has annoying narration, and is named after the least interesting character on the show.

I like this show... except for the lead character! Luckily, it's more of an ensemble cast, even though Meredith does the intro and outro voiceovers.
It seems like every show I watch, I cannot stand the lead actress. Ellen Pompeo just does not have the chops to pull off the lead in a medical drama. Plus, she looks like the illegitimate love child of Rene Zellweger and Julia Stiles. I hate her "Go out with me" "I won't date you" dance with Patrick's Dempsy's character. We all know they are going to hook up, so the back and forth is not cute, it’s annoying.
I also hate that she gets special treatment because of who her mother was, although I guess that’s par for the course, even in real life. Based on next weeks previews, it looks like the Nazi is going to try to put a stop to that. Of course, the writers will make her out to be evil and mean and she’ll probably be the one to get in trouble.
I have residual “Roswell” love for Katherine Heigl. I love her character. I want her to hook up with George! Of course, he has a crush on Meredith because she’s the perfect woman so all the men LOVE her. *barfs* And Sandra Oh is great, too.
All in all, it's a pretty good show. I'll watch it as long as stays on after "Desperate" it doesn't conflict with anything else I like.

Four or five shows and they are already hooking up half the cast. Talk about ERing a show. I want my Boston Legal back but Mrs. Topher likes her Patrick Dempsey.
ETA: A party in my house? anger anger anger. Oh hell let me suck down a bottle of tequila in three minutes.

Didn't that hookup between Burke and Christina just come out of nowhere? So glad to see others are annoyed by Grey as well. I like Izzy the best..Dr. Model. But yes, please give me back my BOSTON LEGAL, I don't think this has too much legs.

I also like Izzy a.k.a. "Dr. Model" the best. Even the lead character doesn't bother me too much, even though she does have that unfortunate Zellweggerness about her.
So far, I like the show--and I usually don't like "hospital" shows.

Yes, but OMG it was hot.
It's an interesting pairing too because there's a lot of racial tension between African-Americans and Koreans on the West Coast. They probably won't go there in the script itself (unless they actually get to the point where their families are meeting each other -- which would surprise me because of the spontaneous nature of their relationship and the dangers of an officy romance), but it's interesting subtext.
ETA: Oh's character did specifically say she was Korean, didn't she? I seem to remember that.

I enjoy the show well enough so that I'll watch it if it's on, but I wont go out of my way or change my plans to tune in.
However, I am getting really sick of all of these shows with these "perfect" female leads that all the men are in love with. Even on my beloved Lost, we've got Perfect!Kate. I understand the need for a romantic subplot but seriously!

Yes, she did. It came up when Izzy wanted her to speak Chinese to the immigrant woman, and she said she knows only Chinese from the menu from some restauarant...and that she's Korean anyhow.
I like this show, and I will watch it and continue to, but it leaves me a little cold. For some reason I feel like the actors are better than the stories or something. But it is a good show that I do enjoy.
