I know this is slightly beside the point, but did anyone else find it really funny that conductor Previn's wives are Dore and Mia? As in Do-Re-Mi(a)!! Just me, then? Okaaay... Dore had a song called "watch out for little girls", I remember a DJ commenting on this situation. Wow glitterbug, very good observation.

Poor Frances, I might have gotten it mixed up with an interview I read. I became very interested in the whole fiasco and read Mia's interviews, etc. I do remember Soon Yi doing that to Mia after she left the house. It may not have been in the book though.

The interview Wol linked upthread was creepy. Allen talked about his daughter in a very distant way, as though she were a possession. And this quote is very telling:
About 14 months? What kind of father doesn't know his daughter's exact age?

Actually, that doesn't sound at all unusual to me. Just because you know your kid's exact age doesn't mean you have to say it, especially when they're still babies: my sister-in-law will say her sons are "about 9 months" because who wants to hear, "they're 8 months and 17 days"? Of course she knows their birthdate, but she doesn't need to calculate their age down to the day constantly.

Personally, I don't know how actors can work with him after all of that.
Rosie O'Donnell, in a stand up routine during that time really came out against him. She said something like; "and I don't care if he sees this. I wouldn't work with him"

I remember Dory Previn. She felt doubly betrayed because she took Mia in after she left Sinatra- that's how Mia got together with Andre Previn.
That said, yes, Farrow's memoir is a good read.
I just happen to be reading Maureen Orth's The Importance of Being Famous a collection of her articles from Vanity Fair. I just got to the piece on the Farrow/Allen break-up. There was a fair amount of evidence that Woody was molesting young Dylan- a neighbor saw him kneeling in front of her with his face in her lap, babysitters found them in compromising positions. It's quite scary considering he's adopted those 2 little girls with Soon-yi.

I'm sure Woody was really bummed, because I bet Rosie was on his shortlist of actresses he wanted to work with. "Meryl, Diane....Rosie! That's it!"

Actually, Joy Behar on The View was talking about this and she said Woody offered Rosie a part in one of his films and Rosie turned him down. I'm not sure if it's true or not though. But Woody does cast some terrible actors here and there so it wouldn't really surprise me.
