The TWoP thread is making my head hurt. If that theory is correct, then this is going to be a monumentally crappy season. I'm hoping for at least a few flashbacks (like how Christopher dealt with Ade's death and where the hell that baby came from), but given what we know of where people are now, there's just not that much interesting stuff to fill in from the missing 2-ish years.

I think David Chase and the other Sopranos writers will be unlikely to fall into a gimmick like that proposed on TWoP. The consistent quality of the series is too important to them. We know that Tony is supposedly going to hospitalized in the next episode, which underscores the chronological nature of Chase's storytelling. Of course I could be wrong. And if any of this season turns out be a dream sequence, a la Bobby Ewing, then my DVDs will officially become fireplace fodder. And no bullshit happy endings like Sex and the City.

I really don't think we're going to go backwards in time. The daughter of my beloved Johnny Sack still hasn't had her wedding, as he just saw the photos of her bridal shower, and that's supposed to be take place one of the future episodes.
He does say something about Pussy Malanga - I think it was "Uccisione Malanga" ["Kill Malanga"], but I'm not sure. He sort of growled it out.
Pussy Malanga was the dude that was supposed to be killed on the orders of Uncle Junior in Artie's restaurant in the first episode. Tony had the place burned down so that it wouldn't happen [well, in that particular place, anyway].

My tivo says the next ep is Tony having a case of mistaken identity on a business trip. So I'm confused, or the Tivo is. It seems like it should say: Tony fights for his life in the hospital while the family fights over power and money.

I give the writers and Chase a lot more credit than a stupid stunt like that. If the pilot had showed Tony getting killed and they spent the rest of the series leading up to that, it would be different. Showing the "finale" now would just be a silly trick, which is something this show doesn't need to do.

Given that HBO intentionally did not show previews of next week which they normally do, I would not put it past them to put a false synopsis out for Tivo.

Sometimes they'll jump ahead a month in show time, so it's not totally out of the question. I guess they're picking up the plotline where they had a hit out on Johnny Sac and hired those weird old guys in Rhode Island. They were given a photo of Tony and Johnny together (stupid move) and viewers thought they'd get confused and kill Tony instead.

Ah! I'd forgotten all about the weird old guy assassins. I hope they're off with Rasputin the Russian plotting a takeover of the whole operation.
I can't imagine that they'd taint this show's legacy with a Dallas-like flashback ending either. If there's more snitching to be done my money's on Paulie Walnuts. His resentment of Tony has never really been hidden anyway. Remember it was he who kept running to Johnny Sack and Carmine gossiping about Tony's crew. He even tried to work a transfer there for a while. Then there's Chrisufuh who'd sell out his own mama for a toot or a pat on the back.
I've always thought that Silvio was the only one Tony could really trust but for some reason he doesn't seem to appreciate him as much as he should, so maybe Sil'll get fed up with that and turn on him?

Ugh, I just read again that it WAS the last episode and we never find out what happens to Tony. Shit if that is it.

I just don't buy that because after this season ends they come back with 8 more episodes in 2007. I don't think they would flashback not only the rest of this season, but next season as well.
