Is anyone watching The Crown? I watched all 10 episodes this weekend. I need to talk about The Crown. I thought it was good. Stuff I already knew, stuff I didn't.

I've been watching it, but I haven't finished it yet. Just watched the episode with the Great Fog of '52.
I think they did a spot on job with casting, except the Queen Mum. Something about her is just not convincing me. Queen Mary is spot on with all the jewels and strict adherence to royal protocol.
Also, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor are perfect. The guy playing the Duke played Prince Charles in The Queen! The Windsors were such sniveling crybabies. They are being portrayed very accurately!

If anyone is Romanov-inclined, The Empire of Tsars from BBC is available on Netflix, and it was really interesting. On a good day, I have a really thin understanding of Russian history, so this filled in quite a bit of gaps, especially with the serfdom and industrialization.

It's not terribly surprising, considering how Edward behaved as king.

King Michael's life would be way more exciting than Elizabeth II's in a show/movie. I find "The Crown" super boring. Not to mention his horrible son-in-law, Radu Duda, who I believe is both a conman and former spy and is super manipulative. He could be the star of a Romanian version of "House of Cards".

I'd definitely watch it. His whole family was interesting. He's the grandson of Marie of Romania, who was pretty darn cool in her own right.
