Funny, because this is the one food-related show that puts me off food entirely. Tonight's kitchen was *almost* as bad as the one from last season that SpinsterLiz mentioned a few days ago. <shudder>

The stuff with Ramsay trying to get friends of his to buy the car's stupid license plate amused me to no end though.

How did that guy attract diners to his restaurant if all he was doing was basically serving microwaved, pre-packaged meals? Is that a town filled with people who've had taste-bud-ectomy's?

It sure seemed he suffered from the Paris Hilton problem too—wanted all the glory and money for doing absolutely nothing that warranted either.

Hell's Kitchen, Season Two, starts in about 30 minutes! Yay! More food craziness and madness. Good times.

I didn't watch this last year because it just seemed too over the top and cruel to me. But after watching the first episode last night, I feel as if most of them have it coming to them anyway. What a bunch of lack wits.

Red team break down:

Polly: I was happy to see her go -- she was way too wishy- washy and just not good under pressure. And while most restaurants don't have that kind of pressure. A busy kitchen isn't for the easily flustered.

Virginia: Whiny, seems to expect to get by on cuteness.

Rachel: Not enough air time, no opinion yet

Sara: I don't like her. She takes too much pleasure in other people's mistakes.

Heather: Professional, focused -- Awesome. I'm pulling for her.

Maribel: Not enough air time to get a strong opinion of her.

Blue Team:

Tom: Asshat. And ewwww. I don't want him cooking anything for me if he's going to sweat in it. That is disgusting. ewwwwww

Giacomo: Whiny asshat. Really. "My whole life people have picked on me?" WTF?? Grow up dude. Tom's comment that if he wanted to be taken seriously, he should cut his hair was true.

Garret: A bit arrogant, but seems competent.

Gabe: Was happy to see him go.

Larry: He seemed like a nice guy and I felt bad for him when the other men were treating him so poorly after he failed to get even one steak finished. Seemed to be the only non-misogynist in the male bunch. I hope he's going to be okay and was sorry to see him go before he could redeem himself somehow.

Keith: Okay, it was funny to see him run around.

So anyhow, I'm hooked and can't wait for the next episode.

You described these people great. The epsiode was good and I was entertained. Right now I'm rooting for the girl that burned her hand. I'm not cheering for any of the guys at this point. Sweaty guy was gross. How can you think it's okay to sweat that way in the kitchen and not wipe it off until you are told?

I missed what happened to Frank. I saw him call someone saying he was sweaty and tingly. And the next thing I saw was him talking to the other chefs. I missed why he was sick. Can someone let me know, please?

This show and Big Brother are my summer shows!
