Just when you think one can cut down their TV hours. Cut down on TV? Huh? Topher, what is this alien concept of which you speak? "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" is great stuff. I loved the episode (may have been the pilot) where a chef serves him rotten meat and Ramsay runs outside and spits it everywhere, cursing up and down, and the chef just stands there blankly like, "Huh? What?" And then Ramsay made the chef taste the meat too and he still looked blank and kind of mumbled, "Uh yeah. Erm, rotten. It is rotten. Uhh." It was just hilarious. (On the other hand, it does make me a little nervous to think that kind of stuff goes in in restaurants where I eat.) :::Trying not to twitch at the memories SpinsterLiz is bringing back:::That. Was. The. Scariest. Chef. EVER! EVER! It wasn't just that he couldn't taste rotting food. Or any food for that matter. It was the hideous state in which he kept the kitchen, the fridge, rot, the mold, the..... < Shudder>. I almost expected him to drop his ash or cigarette into the food. You know how there are some shows where the food they show or the way people eat it with gusto makes you soooooooo hungry? I was like that with Top Chef and always had to have some carrots or something to snack on while I watched it, because it made me drool. Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares? Put me off food for days.

Did anyone watch the Boiling Point/Beyond Boiling Point marathon on BBCA today? There will be another string of episodes tomorrow.

Anyone catch the first of the new Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares the other night? I must say, I'm a bit bewildered by the concept of American "soul food" being chicken wings and nachos but that's probably a quibbling point. The real issue is American Soul Food in .... Brighton???!?! Okay, that's not the point either but I was rather taken aback.
He was pretty gentle, concerned and warm.... for him.... in this episode. Next week promises a bit more fire I think.

Kafka, that was a great episode. TTMR and I kept watching it saying, "We want to eat there." The owner was so proud that she cooked for GR and he ate the entire plate. I wonder if he was nice to her because he knew that she had a good product that just needed some tweaking. And she was so sweet that we just want her restaurant to succeed.
I agree with you on the Brighton aspect of it. We wondered how she ended up there.

Thanks. That kitchen is disgusting. Oh, and the vanity plates.
