I think Rosie O will replace Whoopi and Whoopi will move onto other pastures. I watched a couple of eps (and I rarely watch the view so I guess they accomplished their goal) and I think having both Whoopi and Rosie O is a misfire.

They're surprising me with how good the show is now. Rather than cattiness and all the ugly stereotypes they used to conjure up, they feel like a group of women that are willing to discuss topics that badly need discussion. It has way more of a "Am I the only one seeing this?!" vibe. It makes the show look, feel, and sound credible which I'd never have expected.
I'm also beginning to think Rosie and Whoopi might be savvy enough to see that their dynamic could reignite the show and they could both run with it.

There was definitely a very tense moment on yesterday's show where Whoopi was advocating shame as a legitimate disciplinary tool with children, and Rosie O was extremely opposed and talking about her own son, Blake, and his behavioral problems. Whoopi totally cut Rosie off AND was totally in the wrong, if you ask me, but Ro remained calm as heck. I think it helps that she has hella respect for Whoopi (as evidenced by the next segment where Ro pulled out her scrapbooks which contained personal letters from Whoopi she'd kept over many years).
Anyway, yeah, I like it, too. They probably WILL argue sometimes, and that's okay. Lots of issues are not cut and dried. Unfortunately, I feel like Rosie Perez kind of flip flops a lot, but we shall see... It's still very new to her.

It feels like Whoopi and Rosie O, hate each other. With all of the rumored backstage fuckery going on between Whoopi and Rosie, it makes me long for a Kathy Griffin guest appearance. I want the real scoop!

Ooh, any links on the matter? I haven't heard/read anything. I want the scoop, too -- real or imagined!

Ooh, any links on the matter? I haven't heard/read anything. I want the scoop, too -- real or imagined! There was a story in that paragon of journalism, the Daily Fail about Whoopi cutting off Rosie mid-sentence and then Rosie flipping her lid during the commercial break. Kathy Griffin would be able to tell us what's really happening after they cut to commercial. Is it a lot of ranting and raving between those two? Or icy silence? I want to know!

During The View today, the tension was thick between both Rosies and Whoopi (discussing the Cosby allegations). Rosie P. calmly defended herself from what she perceived as some blowback from Rosie O. and you could tell Rosie O. was really biting her tongue. Whoopi took the side of celebrities as usual. It was uncomfortable to watch and the audience was very quiet; the stage design is very austere and made it seem worse.
Comparing them to The Talk when discussing the same topic, those hosts seem much more relaxed even when they disagree. Their set design is more warm, also.

Oooh, well, that's a delicious teaser for when I get around to watching it on DVR later...
ETA: Hehe. I just noticed this post closely resembles my last post on this thread. I'm terrible!

I couldn't find the clip online. What did they disagree on?
With The Talk being such strong competition, tension between The View hosts might be the way to go. At least that way they can create a clear difference between the two. In my market, The View is on at 11 and The Talk is on at 2. So someone could watch The View and be all grrrrrrr and rubberneck the awkwardness and then tune in later to The Talk and have a good laugh about the very same topics.

I missed the first part, Perez was already defending her observation that companies are using social media to make financial decisions (to drop Cosby) and O'Donnell was pursing her lips a lot. It seemed like O'Donnell was perturbed about being contradicted. She was also pretty grim-faced while Whoopi spoke, so I'm guessing O'Donnell was defending the women who have come forward? I'll have to watch it in it's entirety when they finally post it. But you're right, it's good that The Talk comes on afterward, sort of a palate cleanser.
