Margaret Cho is in for Whoopi today and Kathy Griffin is in tomorrow. Can they platoon in the spot? Please?

ETA 1/7/15: Mario Cantone is making a strong run for a spot on the panel as well which I'd never have expected. I'm not sure what this show is turning into with it's new focus on gender/sexuality-neutral focus on humanity but it's quickly winning me over. Rosie seems to have gotten herself under control as well which does wonders for her appeal, too.

I think the show is great -- better than it's been in years -- EXCEPT for MFing Mario Cantone. I can't stand him! WHY is he there so often?? I am all for having a dude join the panel, but pretty much anyone BUT him would be grrrreat. When he's not co-hosting, he's making a "surprise" walk-on visit. He sucks! He's not funny! Make him go away, The View!

An insider told The Daily Mail, "The brass at ABC feels like they've tried to do everything possible to breathe new life into this show... ABC feels it's exhausted their options with The View and now it's time to expand the existing franchise, GMA. They feel that since GMA is already beating NBC's Today during the first two hours of the broadcast, why not extend the morning broadcast."

I wish they'd just bring back one of the soaps or maybe even take the chance of creating a new daytime soap. But GMA has a built in audience and will stand to make the network more money, so from a business perspective it's pretty hard to argue with that decision (if it actually happens).

Also, Rosie Perez is quitting the show. She just got there!

While ratings stabilized, sources told Variety that Perez never quite got the hang of the show's signature hard news/soft news chat format. The source said the stage and screen actress never quite got the hang of reading a teleprompter.

It's just another run-of-the-mill-Thursday at ABC. I'm glad our PR team doesn't have to deal with it anymore!

I have to say, I was sort of shocked to hear that RP went through so many hair/makeup/assistants in the span of 4 months. Christ on a cracker!

They just need to put that show out of its misery.

It's not just what she said, it's how she said it with her proper British accent and her "I'm the shit" mannerisms. So awful.

ater in the show, Perez clarified: "I want to apologize to this young woman once again for being overly sensitive...Kelly Osbourne is on our side, and I was sensitive. My disdain should only go to Donald Trump, so I'm sorry, darling."

Ugh. There's no reason to apologize for calling someone out on their ignorance, even if it was a misguided, well-meaning attempt to be "on your side." If nobody said anything to Kelly in that moment, she would have had no idea how stupid she was being. It's called tough love. Everyone needs it sometimes!

I happened to be watching when KO made that comment the other day. It was totally cringeworthy the way she backtracked and said something like "wait, I'm not even a part of this conversation" after she stuck her stupid foot in her mouth. I think I said something like "oh, girl, no" out loud to myself. Ugh.

Watching The View with Meghan McCain is like reading the comments section on the Fail. You know it's awful, enraging, and ultimately pointless, but you still sit and watch in horror at the most immature and vile creatures shrieking into the abyss. Anyhoo, today she was in rare form. Whoopi had to end the segment abruptly and go the commercial because things started to get bonkers. And if you think the commercials breaks are getting longer than normal, they have, and there's a reason why. A TWoP poster was in the audience and gave this review of the taping:

When They came out , they look exactly like they do on TV just with a lot of pancake makeup on. NutMeg already looked like she was in a bad mood. The woman sitting next to my mom told my mom oh she’s not bad. (her opinion would change by the end of the show lol)

Whoopi’s “Welcome to the View” chant I could hardly hear. You have to kind of strain to hear them talk. Their volume is very low. The heated exchange after the first segment continued when they went to break. Whoopi started to point her finger at Megan, I wish I could’ve read her lips because she was in my full view. She was mad. You can tell she was trying to explain to Megan why she shut her down, but then all I can see is Megan’s backside...she was waving her finger back at Whoopi and her head was wiggling back and forth. She was getting increasingly upset, more finger pointing. Whoopi didn’t back down and finger pointed back. She had a pained WTF look on her face.

Then all of a sudden, Megan jumped out of her seat and walked off backstage. ...because I didn’t see her face, she had tears streaming down it.

Then from 8 people to 15 appeared on the stage. Producers, makeup was being touched up. Mind you..When the Whoopi and Megan we’re going at it, they had their people surrounding them. Whoopi then started to go into explain mode to the main producer. You can tell she was trying to explain her side. And it looked like some of the producers ran off stage to get her back. The commercial breaks feel longer than the actual show segments. The show MC was trying to distract the audience by asking questions and cracking jokes. But it wasn’t working. The audience was clearly glued to what happened on stage.

Maybe sensing the tension, Sunny got up from her chair (she would be the only one to engage and talk to the audience members, Whoopi did a few exchanges) and walked toward my section. She asked us how we were doing, if we liked her dress, and we asked her what she cooking for Thanksgiving. She would also walk over to opposite side and talk to the audience members Whoopi’s section.

Then finally Megan came back. But you can tell she was crying. She had 3 makeup ppl with her. As they were reapplying her makeup, she was throwing a tantrum ‘ it’s not fair blah blah blah wah wah’ redoing her eyes, applying powder to her neck as well.

After that you can feel the tension in the room. And she had a scowl for the rest of show. As everyone saw, you could tell she couldn’t wait to get the hell out of there. In between each commercial break, she either kept her head down, never looked into the audience or engaged with anyone or ran off backstage sniffling.

After Candice Bergen’s segment, they take a group photo... then Candice and Whoopi move to back of the stage chatting and hugging. Joy and Abby (in between breaks were always at the table giggling with each other or on their cells ) were chatting with one another BUT Megan chose to isolate herself all the way in the back and precede to rant and complain to her people. Then the lady next to my mom said damn she’s so rude!!! Lol

Everyone everyone is watching this....

Megan slips out the side of the stage...Mind you the guest is still on the stage! Candice hugs and kisses everyone goodbye except Megan who left before her.

When the ladies return to their seats, a producer walks up to Megan and tells her in her ear which I heard... Candice told me to tell you goodbye lmao

When the show ends. The ladies get up. Megan storms off, no waving to the audience no acknowledging us... nothing... the rest of them smile and wave goodbye.

With Ana Navarro added to Friday shows, I don't think Meg will be around much longer. She clearly can't handle the pressure of reading her prepared Fox approved cards.

Double post since I'm the only one still watching this shit show--Joy and Meghan go at it again. It really is disgusting to witness a worthless nepotism hire disrespect a woman twice her age every day. I hope someone slaps some sense and manners into her.
