It's over, sniffle, sniffle. So how accurate was that about Cleopatra tricking Antony? I always thought the Elizabeth Taylor version was correct. Simon Woods gave me chills when he was being "charming" to Cleopatra. Did Antony actually have children with Cleopatra? I have all these questions that I must head off to Amazon and buy a book on the subject. Is anyone else dropping HBO? I've read that many are very angry and are going to cancel in protest. Unfortunately I am hooked on Entourage, so I'm stuck with them. I do so wish they had given us at least two more episodes.

Yup, Helios, Selene, and Philadelphus (not seen in the show) were their actual children. And yeah, Octavia really did raise them after their parents croaked, making her one of the most beloved women in Rome.
So sad to see this show go. It was really amazing. Sadly, I have this poster of eight of the major characters from HBO. Six of them are now dead!
I guess I'll keep HBO for Entourage. I also hear the guy who created Six Feet Under is doing a vampire drama for them next so that sounds promising.
P.S. Team Atia Forever! I loved her smackdown on Livia at the end. And since we're free to speculate on the characters' future, I see Atia and Octavia retiring to some lavish villa somewhere spending their remaining days in peace and raising the kids. Because I really don't want Livia to poison her.

I can't say that I'm Team Atia because her revenge on Servilia was so brutal. Nevertheless, I loved her saying to Livia, "I see you. You are looking at me and thinking you will destroy me. Well, better women than you have vowed to destroy me. Go and find them."
I really wish this final episode had been two hours long. It just felt so rushed.

I cheered when she said that. It was so perfect!
I will miss this show so much. I can't believe that we'll never get another episode. The last three felt so rushed. I cried when Vorenus died. After Pullo left Octavian and was walking with Caesarion, we were so afraid that someone was going to come up and kill him. I'm glad that they walked away together even if Caesarion wasn't supposed to live.
Kevin McKidd and James Purefoy were incredible in Anthony's death scene.

I was really hoping that it would end with Pullo and Vorenus walking off into the sunset. At least I got Pullo walking off with his son.
I do wish they had had the original four year arc to tell the story, but they did a good job cramming everything into the second season that they needed to.
My only complaint last night was Antony doing Joe Pesci from Goodfellas. That totally took me out of the moment and made me laugh.

Saw last night's final episode. It's too bad HBO and BBC couldn't afford to keep it afloat. Alas, I have my memories not to mention the DVD of the first season which got me hooked.
Any idea when the final season comes out on DVD?

I wonder how long the Gyppos kept Antony's corpse there propped up on the throne? Because in the hot Egyptian climate...

I wonder how long the Gyppos kept Antony's corpse there propped up on the throne? Because in the hot Egyptian climate... I figure the desert is pretty dry though. Speaking of which, were those supposed to be Antony and Cleopatra effigies or their real corpses propped up and paraded through Rome? I figured they were effigies but we didn't get a good view.

My show is dead. Sniff. But my Atia lives woo hoo! That would have been the one death to put me over the edge. I just love that gal.
I am upset that Vorenus died. Like others I was hoping he and Pullo would walk off into the sunset together and with all he has been through, death just sucks IMO. I am glad he made his peace with the children. I was in tears though. Kevin McKidd is just such an amazing actor. How he made such a grouch loveable is a testament to his talent.
Was I supposed to feel sorry for Cleopatra? Because I didn't. Not one bit and I was actually yelling for her to just die already. Antony on the other hand? Sniff. The pretty is gone y'all.
And finally, Titus Pullo. Funny how his relationship with Caesarion is just like his relationship was with Octavian in the beginning. Nice touch. And yes, he needs a spinoff or sitcom. Glad he made it though. I didn't doubt that for an instant.
Gosh I will miss this show. Two seasons is not near enough. I can't wait for the dvds.
