No way. Team Servilia! We went away with a bunch of friends, a dvd player, and a pirate copy of the whole first season last Easter and watched the entire thing over a weekend. Good times. Anyone for a doormouse?

Team Atia all the way. Servilia currently has the upper hand with the dead Caesar thing and all that but my money's on the House of Julii. That Junii bitch is going down.

I keep hearing January 7th. Whoo! I also originally heard that we were only going to get 8 more episodes but then recently I read it was 13. Anyone know?

I'm pretty sure it's 10 episodes this season, compared to 12 in the first season.
Dear HBO,
Please extend the run of this series. It's awesome! I admit though that continuing down the timeline will shortly bring us into I, Claudius territory though which may bring about to many comparisons. I'd wonder who they would hypothetically cast as Livia?

Seth Bullock would think that. True confession: due to the "people are their avatars" thing, my subconscious totally thinks Clench is moderating. Which he would do beautifully, by the by (but he wouldn't approve of pirated DVDs. he's a lawman, you know.) FWIW, upon viewing I Claudius in high school, my friend changed her "stage name" to "Livia Harlowe." So I know she'd kill for the role...which is apropos, right? Team Atia still leads with 61%. WHOO! This could be more decisive than Team Jolie vs. Aniston. And a hell of a lot more fun. I totally have to check the various LA papers about this campaign. I'm secretly convinced that it's to boost the DVD sales for the holiday season and if they do well enough, they'll extend the run. It took me forever to place the actor from Casino Royale. But it's Brutus. Perhaps he can pass along our idea to Ray and Daniel? Dudes. How have I owned the DVD for months and just now saw that Ray Stevenson has a commentary? Ahem. Excuse me...

Can I doublepost to mention I saw James Purefoy? Because I totally did. I was all doing holiday shopping at the Grove and was stopped with the "wait - I know that incredibly hot dude smoking. Have I slept with him, perhaps?" No, but I have seen him naked (as have we all). SWOON. I thought about asking if the camera was, uh, accurate and if I could get a real-life peek, but I thought better of it. Funnily enough, when I went up to my car, he was parked two rows away. Oh and apparently the marketing is working so much that the DVDs are temporarily out of stock at Amazon for a whole week!

TTMR and I just started watching last season at the beginning of January. I didn't want to get sucked in (I tend not to watch dramas because I fear commitment), but I did. I want somebody to fuck me the way Titus Pullo fucked Cleopatra. The scene where Titus Pullo was sentenced to die in the arena and killed nearly all the gladiators, and then Lucius jumped in to save him was one of the most thrilling things I've ever seen on TV. We literally jumped to our feet cheering.
I loved tonight's episode. I loved Calpurnia's response to Sevilla's visit to pay her respects. I love that Octavian is getting smarter and more persuasive. It was a joy to watch.

I liked how Calpurnia did more this episode than she did for all of season 1. And I am still in love with the devilish yet practical Atia. Caesar's body is still warm but she dreads having to tow Calpurnia along in their escape yet makes a great faux-show of emotion by throwing herself onto Caesar's corpse.

Normally the level of brutality that this show showed tonight would totally turn me off. It's a bit bleak for my mood. But I loved Season One and all of the actors are so delicious and fantastic that I am hooked again.
