Destiel refers to the people who think that Dean and Cas are in wuv, and would consummate their wuv in the final episode. Instead, well, let's just say that it didn't work out like that.

Oh you poor, sweet, naive child. ๐ I guess you haven't heard of Cas/Dean slash shipping. What ever you do, DO NOT read any fanfic labelled A/B/O.

I did, however, dip my toe into Twitter and read a few hashtags of Destiel and I am mindblown. I've watched every episode up until the last season and I have never thought Castiel and Dean were a thing. How did other people watch the same show as me and see Destiel?! My goal is to watch the last few episodes during the Thanksgiving weekend. Wish me luck!

cabbagekid, I hope you don't mind if I say that your posts in this thread are giving me LIFE. I had no idea people watched Supernatural without being dialed into the online fandom side of it (when I did watch the show, I thought that part of it was a million times more enjoyable than the show itself. And sometimes better done) and honestly my fandom goggles were strong enough that I didn't think it was possible to watch the show without finding it a little gay. Have you gotten to Winship yet...? (I think that's what it's called, it's been awhile.)

Have you gotten to Winship yet...? (I think that's what it's called, it's been awhile.) ONE THING AT A TIME!!! I'm still reeling from Destiel. I watched Supernatural for what it is, just a show with pretty men chasing "monsters." My friend is also a religious watcher of Supernatural (she got me into it) and she knows nothing of Destiel. I tried to explain it to her and the things I found on Twitter and she's basically like me, how did people connect Castiel and Dean to have romantic affections for each other? I honestly feel like everyone is watching some "after scenes" that I somehow forgot to watch. I don't think I've ever ventured online to read about the show except for maybe looking up a few characters here and there. I'm guessing somewhere on the internet is how Destiel took off.

For the love of all that is holy, keep it that way! I've learned to stay out of the fandoms of shows I like. The nitpicking either makes you hate the show, or you get swept up in fandom politics. That being said, "Spuffy 4EVAH!!11!!".

I fell into Internet fandoms back during Dawsonโs Creek (Pacey/Joey is True Love!!!) and I have thankfully never fallen into fandoms ever again. If I had the Internet energy to join a Buffy fandom, I would have been Team Spike. Lol

(I think that's what it's called, it's been awhile.) That's Winscest. There are a few YouTube pages where Easter Eggs from the finale are discussed. I haven't watched Supernatural in a long time. I watched part of the finale and I thought it was pretty good, because it went back to basics, and that was Sam and Dean. I stopped watching when about 83882929 other characters came onto the show and it got broader and broader until I said, "later for this" and stopped watching. But I'm glad I saw the finale.

I'm currently watching Season 15 and I'm on episode 2. I wish I never learned about Destiel. Now, every Dean and Cass scene together, I look at it from a different POV. Like Dean was upset that nothing is real because of God and he questions what is real now. Cass replies "We are," and I thought "Destiel shippers must have had their hearts soaring in this scene."
How do I erase Destiel from my memory?
