Hi all, i did a search and did not find this already posted, but if it has, I apologize.

I am actually posting this because my boyfriend wants to know if Alex Trebek is a nice guy or an arrogant tool.

From the stories I've heard, he's an arrogant tool. One story is that he really doesn't want much to do with his contestants. One was a story in an airport where they wouldn't let him take on a carry on which was too large and he said, "Do you know who I am??" There are other stories, I just can't remember them..

I watched this the other day and there was a Pauly Shore category. It changed my opinion forever.

That's ingenious, in a sick sort of way. I'm sure the question writers were saying, "Okay, we have all these educated people who have spent years learning about literature, science, and geography. How can we mess them up?"

"Let's have a category on crappy movie stars!"

"Perfect! Who do we pick first? Kate Hudson?"

"No."

"Tom Arnold?"

"No."

"Pauly Shore?"

"That's the ticket!"

Once I read an interview with Alex Trebek and he said that, when he was young, he liked to make the other kids at school laugh. So the interviewer said, "You mean you were the class clown?" And Trebek replied: "No, I would say I was the class wit."

The man is ridiculously conceited.

I know a guy who knows Trebek through the charity World Vision. He's actually traveled with Trebek! He says Alex isn't conceited at all (I'm a huge Jeopardy fan and had to ask) but just very businesslike, somewhat nerdy, and no-nonsense. He said he has a dry, droll sense of humor, is very committed to charitiable causes, especially those for children and education, and is a pleasant guy to be around, not at all a diva.
