Helene Elliot and Nancy Armour both published some notes about Michelle's performances. In her free skate, she omitted her first jump, the Double Axel, but went on to perform (in this order) a Triple Salchow, a Triple Flip, a Triple Lutz-Double Toe, Double Toe-Double Toe, Triple Flip-Double Toe-Double Toe, and a Double Lutz. She didn't do any Loop jumps, but she was practicing Double Loop-Double Loop before she skated her programs. And here's a You Send It file of Michelle's free skate music. (I don't think this violates any copyright law because Rachmaninoff has been dead for so long, but if sharing the music is prohibited, then go ahead and delete it.) This isn't the exact version/edit, but it'll give you something to fantasize about. Every night before I go to sleep I imagine what Michelle's final Olympic performance will be like. More than anything I could want for myself, I want this for her.

Screw it. Screw the judges, screw the cameras, screw the haters. Go out there and skate this for the audience and, as David Letterman would say, 'Blow the roof off the dump!'. Skate this for yourself. Let it fly. You've got nothing to lose. The medals are icing on the cake at this point. Show 'em who's KWEEN!" But as I'm not...I'll just say that in my head. LOL

I wish David Letterman was her coach.
Swan, I always imagine what her last Olympic skate will be like too...and know I'll be bawling my head off like a loser.
Kind of o/t, why is the city sometimes Turin and sometimes Torino? Anyone know?
I'm listening to this music....feh. It's not doing much for me at all.

Turin is the English version of Torino, and the press hasn't made up its mind on one choice all the time (much like Asian/Chinese names.)
Most of them have been Anglicized - Firenze/Florence, Venezia/Venice, Roma/Rome, Milano/Milan.

Kind of o/t, why is the city sometimes Turin and sometimes Torino? Anyone know? Turin is the English version, and Torino is the Italian. This weekend's Entertainment Tonight will run some big pieces on figure skaters of the past. Probably the same pieces that The Insider has been airing all week. Oh, and last Tuesday on "The Insider", Steven Cojocaru did some stupid fashion critique of the ladies on "Skating with Celebrities" (BTW, He's gotten really fat. So fat he probably goes through an entire tube of concealer just for his neck alone. And normally I wouldn't call someone who just overcame liver disease fat, but it's Cojo and he's made fun of so many people despite looking like an alien himself, so I can't help myself.), anyway he nearly freaked out because Kristy Swanson wore a headband. "AhHhH OmG How could she wear a headband!?!?" I'm sorry to tell him, but lots of ice dancers (and ballroom dancers too for that matter) wear headbands. On the ice, I think the trend got started by World Champion Tatiana Navka. Here are some pics of Diva Navka: Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic3

Navka is gorgeous. I just wish I "got" ice dancing. I'm trying, but it just doesn't do it for me. I did get a little teary-eyed during Nationals when Jamie Silverstein (and partner) got a berth at the Olympics. Yay for them!

...too bad Deborah Gibson & Kurt Browning were eliminated on tonight's show.

I feel bad for Kurt, but not really "Deborah" (sorry, she'll always be Debbie to me).
Bruce is still clunky, but Tai is so gorgeous. I hope I look half as lovely when I reach her age.

Actually, I'm more curious as to how Kristy and Lloyd stayed in but Kurt and Deborah were booted.
