The long lay off killed this show for me.

There's no indication of when it might start again here. No big loss - it's a great idea that's been turned into a borderline soap opera. Nothing bloody happens! In regards to the local police searching the 'FBI agents' house as mentioned on the previous page that was so obviously nothing but filler. It was a scene written to make sure the show filled its' hour/50 minutes or whatever time slot.
It's a shame. Great idea, sloppy execution.

I started watching it last night but will have to save it until tonight because there wasn't enough time between Idol and Lost to get this in. From what I saw so far, it might be struck off of my "regular viewing" list as it's still in the soap opera mode. The new mayor is a bigger dick than I remembered. A mysterious woman from the mysterious guy's past shows up. How mysterious! There's a dangerous journey to get supplies at a place that resembles Lord of the Flies on the plains.
I'll finish watching tonight and report back. This show may be dead to me now though!

Anyone still watching? We actually stuck with it due to fascination with the slow pace because it's rare to see anything move that slowly and still be alive, but shockingly the past 3 or 4 episodes have been pretty interesting.

The implication is that the bombs were domestically set off. Which is why they were getting aid drops from all sorts of odd places (and potential enemies) like China, Russia and somewhere in the Middle East.
Also, they've been really trigger-happy lately, killing off all sorts of characters. The older lady store owner was shot and killed, the mysterious woman who knows black guy (Hodges, Henderson?) was shot by his daughter, and the woman doctor who is the cheated-on daughter-in-law of the main couple (Major Dad & wife) died when she went into premature labour. I guess they're only killing off female characters.
In flashbacks we were shown that Hodges/Henderson (I know the name is wrong, but I just don't know!) is a CIA agent and he and mysterious woman were supposed to find a shipment of post-Cold War nukes that went missing. They didn't find out enough info fast enough and whoever stole them set them off. Because of New York's heavy post-9-11 security, they were thwarted there and NYC was saved, but many US cities were not so lucky. Hodges knew it couldn't be stopped and moved his family to a safe area to save them.
At least that's his story so far. It could be all bulls--t, and he could be behind the whole thing.

It's Hawkins. And he figured out that one of the main planners (who's trying to get back the bomb Hawkins still has) is the Department of Homeland Security guy who was heading up the "black ops/off the books" group to infiltrate the terrorists. Oh, and the terrorists responsible were a combination of anarchists, religious extremists and some other group (militia like Timothy McVeigh-types?).
I'm totally hooked on this show. Skeet's been rocking his part.

I believe most of Hawkins' story, but found it curious that someone in his line of work would just spill his guts to Jake, someone he doesn't know that well. While it was probably a relief for him to spill some of the stuff he's been carrying all by himself for so long, I'm betting he's held back at least a few goodies. Not only because his character would be naturally secretive, but having little unshared tid bits pop up down the line makes for more interesting storylines, too.
That being said, I fully believe he's mainly a good guy because of his wife. This woman rules and there's no way she'd have the wool pulled over her eyes by anybody. I adore Darcy. I love how she's obviously not the usual twenty-two-year-old playing the role of mature wife and mother for eye candy value. She looks old enough to play the role, thus proving women past 25 (which I'm assuming she is since there's very little info on IMDB re:April Parker) can be gorgeous without being botoxed and weaved within an inch of their life(waving to Emily Alien Face).
Still can.not.stand. Jake, or Jesus MacGyver as he's known in my house. Didn't like the Roger/refugee plotline either. If they just wanted to get rid of the guy so that the town savior and Alien Face could hook up, WHY bother bringing him back in the first place?? Oh, to make sure we don't think badly of JM's moral standards or AF's fidelity? Yuck.
I hadn't made the connection that the characters being killed off are mostly female. This is troubling as my favorites are Darcy, Mimi, and Mother Green, and to a lesser extent even Robert and Darcy's daughter and the formerly spoiled brat who's hanging with Grocery Boy. Maybe they realize their female characters are so much better than the males that they've been culling the herd to even things up?

So finally they pick up the pace and now it's being CANCELLED?! WTF?
And killing Gerald McRainey's character earns them my eternal hatred. Just sayin'.
