Is anyone reading the indiewire reviews? This one completely cracked me up. (Obviously not safe if you're not spoiled for it, fair warning.) I love these reviews! They don’t take it too seriously.

::sigh:: I hated the pregnancy/William story-line 16 years ago, and I still hate it now. They've just never handled it in a way that makes any damn sense.
Meanwhile, the guy playing William/Jackson is Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins' son. Which means that Duchovny has now worked with two of her kids. These are the silly things that interest me.

Anyone watching Waco on the Paramount Channel (formerly Spike)? Taylor Kitsch is doing a pretty good job as David Koresh. I remember the siege, but I was in college at the time and not really paying attention to the details. The Koresh segments are compelling, but the FBI/ATF segments are pretty boring and some are really badly scripted and acted. Michael Shannon is not working for me as an upstanding and ethical FBI agent. There's always got to be something a little crazy about every character he plays for me to believe him. The show's thesis is that the Feds totally screwed this up. They are coming off very badly as incompetent and out of touch.

And teenage William is a jerk. What kind of prank was that supposed to be tricking his girlfriends into attacking each other? I was disappointed that Francois Chau was just an illusion of William. I always liked him on Lost and wouldn't have minded seeing him come back.

So I just caught up with the reboot - both seasons. Yeah I was way behind.
And I have to officially pick back up my constant, unrepentant X-Phile badge again because I LOVE it. All of it. It's not perfect, but the show was never perfect as a whole, a couple dozen episodes or so were, but not everything. I'm just happy it's on my TV again.
And love to my darling cats from college, who I know crossed the rainbow bridge years ago without me as their mom anymore: Mulder and Scully.
I thought the casting of William was good. He has Scully's baby face from early on and Mulder's floppy hair. And I don't care what you say, CARL. Mulder is the father.
I'm going to be purely superficial now, those flashback scenes with David Duchovny... Ugh. Painfully Gorgeous.
ETA: This may be an example of the Mandela Effect, but I'm about 80% sure that Mulder WAS on the phone with someone named Reggie in Season 1. A very early episode, something about basketball tickets...? But of course I can't find anything online now, because all the results are more recent. I wouldn't put it past them though. These episode are so full of easter eggs.

My eyes are rolling out of my head now because Fox/Chris Carter are talking about still bringing the show back for another season without Gillian. Like...why? Do they not get that most people watch for the Mulder/Scully combo? That the show really suffered after Duchovny left and went absolutely no where when they tried to continue it with Doggett/Reyes?
Apart from the last two episodes, this season has failed to really suck me in. If Mulder AND Scully weren't on it, I know I wouldn't be watching at all. It's not really the writing that sucks people in (especially mythology stuff - it was clear back in the original run they were kinda lost on that) and the monster-of-the-week largely works because of Mulder and Scully's reactions to them.
I hope Duchovny decides he doesn't want to do it without GA too and they can let the show rest.

A very early episode, something about basketball tickets...? But of course I can't find anything online now, because all the results are more recent. I wouldn't put it past them though. These episode are so full of easter eggs. That clip was from season 5 episode The Unusual Suspects, which was set entirely in 1989 and was mostly focused on the Lone Gunmen. Mulder was not yet working on the X files and Reggie was his boss at the time. When Mulder was talking to him in that episode it was about the case he was working on then, which led to him meeting and eventually befriending TLG. Reggie was in an episode in season 1 where he asked Mulder for help in tracking down a killer he'd helped catch once before in his pre-X files days, I think it was Young at Heart? It did not go well for that Reggie. The guy Mulder used to call in the early seasons about football and basketball tickets and whatnot was Danny. We never actually saw him. And I don't know whether or not to be proud or ashamed of the fact that I didn't have to look most of that up.

Well, there was a disappointing lack of Skinner in this one for a Skinner-centric episode. And it was weird seeing Kersh acting the way he was considering that the last time we saw him he was helping Mulder break out of prison.

I liked it but it did feel like a goodbye to Skinner. The way they left it, it seems like he’s going off on his own quest to find the truth? I wonder if we’ll see him again this season.
