I haven't watched the most recent episode fully yet because I was eating lunch when I started and couldn't continue. BUT can I just say that I think David Duchovny has aged very well. Of course he doesn't look like he did 25 years ago, but damn! I would not kick him out of my bed any more than I would have 25 years ago.

They’ve both aged very well (though I’ve noticed GA sounds hoarse this season. Her voice didn’t sound like that in the 2016 season nor in American Gods).
I’m okay with the sort of undefined nature of their relationship. It makes sense for them. They were friends, they were in a romantic relationship for a while, broke up, but now they’ve discovered they are kinda forever intertwined and they are just letting whatever may be just be without putting labels on it. It all makes waaaay more sense than in the original run of the series where for way too long they refused to write it like something was going on between them, when...come on. Two people that hot with a relationship that intense? Of course they would be banging. It got ridiculous that they didn’t write into the show that they were until way too late (I think I read that DD and GA at some point just started playing their characters like they were banging, because...come on). Now the show acknowledges that yeah, they have this intense connection, and their lives will forever be intertwined, and yeah - sometimes they get horny and bang each other because they’re both hot and love each other even if it’s all too twisted for a normal relationship.

Yeah, I don't get what the deal is with her voice either. She sounds like she has bronchitis or something. I’m okay with the sort of undefined nature of their relationship. It makes sense for them. Now the show acknowledges that yeah, they have this intense connection, and their lives will forever be entertained, and yeah - sometimes they get horny and bang each other because they’re both hot and love each other even if it’s all too twisted for a normal relationship. I've heard that before about them playing the relationship that way in season 7, and I know GA wanted it to be far more obvious that they had sex in all things except CC wouldn't allow it (I think her original screenplay had them kissing at the end instead of Mulder just covering her with a blanket on the couch.) I think even they were tired of the ambiguity by then.

An Open Letter to Chris Carter, Please. Stop. Just stop. We had some good times, but the bad times are so bad that it's not worth waiting for the good times anymore. Signed, Annoyed in Boston *** But seriously, WTF was that shit? Mulder & Scully were separated for most of the episode for no damn reason, Mulder can now all of a sudden take down a bunch of goons all by himself without breaking a sweat, Mitch Pileggi's talents were wasted yet again (and don't get me started on what happened to Skinner,) and, to top it all off, it ended with {Spoiler}yet ANOTHER implausible pregnancy reveal. If the show does come back, they're going to have a heck of a time writing out Scully since GA said she's done. I just can't with this show anymore. On the plus side though, {Spoiler}Monica Reyes is dead. And Mulder got to pump CSM full of lead. Silver linings.

Roison, when the season's done can you make a list of what episodes to skip? I don't know if I have it in me to suffer through the bad ones because it hurts my heart too much. My 90s X-Files love is sacred, as are my Barbie and Ken as Scully and Mulder dolls, and I don't know how much I want to damage that.

Last night was the last one, so here we go: 11-1 My Struggle III- Skip. It sucked. Hard. 11-2 This 11-3 Plus One 11-4 The Lost Art of Forehead Sweat 11-5 Ghouli- This one is a MOTW/mytharc hybrid deal, but James Wong wrote and directed it so it doesn't suck. I just hate the mytharc so much I couldn't really enjoy it beyond appreciating how well-shot it was. 11-6 Kitten 11-7 Rm9sbG93ZXJz 11-8 Familiar 11-9 Nothing Lasts Forever- I think this would've been a good one to end on, it's a MOTW but there's a nice moment at the end that would've served great as the final scene of the series. 11-10 My Struggle IV- Skip. For your own sanity.

At your recommendation, I skipped this season.

I would say that 11-4 and 11-7 are worth the trouble if someone is reluctant to check this season out. They are both amusing and well-done. 11-3 is worth it if you are a 'shipper.

I actually really really liked 11-2, I think that's a minority opinion though. It was very spy thriller-esque.

I would say 11-4 and 11-7 were terrific, they would hold up to past seasons. 11-3 and 11-8 were average but both had interesting bad guys/ monsters. 11-2 was the only myth episode I’ve liked in the past two seasons. 11-6 was a pretty good Skinner episode and I agree 11-9 would have been a good season finale. It had a creepy MOTW case and a nice final moment between Mulder and Scully. I haven’t watched last night’s and I don’t think I will because I hate the mythology stuff so much. I also skipped the first episode and I’m fine with that.
