So, that was interesting. Very little dialogue and only one scene with people other than Mulder and Scully in it. Although I have a hard time believing that A) Scully can afford such a nice place in Bethesda on an FBI agent's salary and B) all that harassment was just because Mulder didn't leave a tip. If that was the case then why was the AI bothering Scully too?

This was the first episode I had seen of the reboot and I loved it! I thought the quality of acting, set design, lighting, everything was so much better than most shows on TV. I liked the touches of humor. I thought parts of it my were almost too realistic, the way we are in thrall to technology.

Did she really stack some paper during that "I Want to Believe" second movie period where she quit the FBI and worked as a doctor, and I guess kept costs low by living in that shack with Mulder?"

I suppose that makes sense, although the faulty logic of a forensic pathologist becoming a pediatric neurosurgeon will always bug me. Mulder living in a shack literally in the middle of nowhere makes total sense on the other hand. He was destined for such an abode.

Even when Scully’s house was attacking her I couldn’t help thinking I would love that home system. Unrealistic housing aside I loved this episode. It touched on my two biggest peeves/ fears about technology. One, that no matter how convenient technology makes your life there will always be that level of spam whether it’s a pop-up ad, a survey or an auto playing video that you can’t ignore if you want to use that technology. And two, that all our devices are spying on us and gathering info on us. I read an interview with the writers of this episode and they said the scene with Scully’s “personal massager” was inspired in part by a real company whose sex toys were secretly collecting data on their users. There is nothing that is private anymore.

I also loved how, in the midst of chaos, Mulder asked Scully why her house was so much nicer than his. ETA I'm also tickled by blobfish, so that part cracked me up.

Last night’s episode was just kind of an average, typical X-file. But creepy puppet and off brand Teletubbies were A+ monsters. Wish they had done more with them.

Agreed. I enjoyed it, but the elements never really came together. Having a hellhound plus a witch plus evil kiddie creepers was a lot of random elements. Two would have been enough.

I pretty much agree. It's one of the many episodes they've done that's not bad, but not great either. And Mr. Chuckleteeth makes me glad that I always watch this the morning after it airs instead of at night. That thing was terrifying.
I did enjoy that Mulder was all blasé about seeing the hellhound but the monkey freaked him out.

I have two primary thoughts about this week's episode: A) Ew and B) Enough with the freaking vagueness about their relationship already. I'm not even a shipper and I'm sick of this. And judging by the previews I have a guess as to what the cliffhanger Chris Carter said it was going to end on is... {Spoiler}CSM is going to finally try to kill Mulder and it'll end before we know if he succeeded. I hope I'm wrong though, because that'd really piss me off.
