His wife seems to live to enable him.

Wow. I have zero respect for someone who acts that way.

Here's my thing about him. It doesn't matter if it's genetic or what his ancestry is; it's not something to be clinical about and he doesn't need a test. It's obvious. The man is an alcoholic. When he drinks, something snaps in his brain and he can't stop drinking and his personality changes.
I bet the morning after that meltdown he had no memory of what happened. If he said that he wouldn't be lying either. It's like you start drinking and BOOM, you wake up somewhere else and have no idea what happened, but you didn't pass out, it's like part of your brain stopped working.
To me, he needs a MEDICAL detox and then to something like AA and his wife needs Al-Anon, period end of story. He probably goes for these "cures" and thinks he can have "just one." No Johnny, you fucking can't have just one. I mean people act like booze is equal to something like food, which you actually need to survive.
Just my two cents.

How sad. I thought he kicked the bucket after seeing his name at the top of the page.

Addiction is such a sad disease. That's all I've got.

Uh, okay. (Not aimed at any of the posters, but at this foodgod dude who thinks he is destined for superstardom.)
This seems very random. How can they even film a movie with COVID raging? I know somewhere, people are, but it doesn't seem like a good idea.
As for J R-M, I didn't know he was in Vikings! Granted, I watch it only intermittently.
Years ago, he was in a version of Gormenghast (a fantasy about a group of Victorian era characters who inhabit a castle so large it is literally their entire world) and in the commentary on it (I must have been watching it on DVD) he stated he played his character as a boy who had suffered sexual abuse, and that's why the character had become the villain of the piece. I always wonder how much he J R-M pulled from real life for that.
In his youth he was gorgeous. He still has a very spellbinding presence.

I always group him, Colin Farrell and Cillian Murphy together they are all about the same age and I think emerged around the same time too and I always had a fantasy Irish film casting with them Gabriel Byrne and Brendan Gleeson I’d add Domhnall Gleeson in there now instead of JRM sadly. His eyes were so distracting in Bend it with Beckham. He really had a presence in his roles back then.
Hope at some point he may be able to turn it around with help and the right people in his life, Colin has( last thing I seen him do was help promote funding for Special Olympics Ireland during lockdown)
