The Golden Retriever won Sporting, the Deerhound won Hound. I'll be rooting for the Golden, cause I prefer dogs with long hair. The other are the Pug, the Rott, the Dalmatian and Bull Terrier.
Whoops, I overlooked the Herding group, won by the Old English Sheepdog. Lots of hair there, but I'm going to stick with the Golden.

Aims, when they were choosing Best in Show, Carlee took her turn around the ring and then when it was time for her to pose at the end, she took a stance and was still as a rock. She was totally focused on her handler, and it was clear she was not going to move until she got her signal. As she stood there, the crowd started cheering louder and louder and Carlee didn't move a hair. It was awesome!
The dogs are faboo this year, I'm torn between the pug, the gorgeous dal, the adorable rott and of course the golden (how can you not love a golden?).

Well it was a tough call because those were all gorgeous dogs...I was hoping the Golden or Sheepdog would win but I'm happy for the bull terrier. Good on ya, Rufus! Well done.

Awwww, I looooove Golden Retrievers. My family has had two and they are the BEST. I'm glad the Golden at least won the sporting group.

Ok is it just me, or does anyone else upon seeing a bull terrier is reminded of Spuds McKenzie, the beer dog from the 1980s? I felt bad for that poor little pug who got a bit frightened at the end when it was his time to be judged. I think when he tried to sit on his haunches that sealed it up for Rufus.

I heard this morning on the news that the whippet escaped from its kennel in the airport, and now it's missing.

V! I! Z! S! L! A! VIZSLA!!!Obviously, I'm a Vizsla fanatic, but I thought Carlee was a Vizsla. I do remember a Vizsla striking a pose at a recent show and the crowd cheering it. I like little dogs and wanted an Italian Greyhound when my ex and I started looking for a new dog ages ago after our dear old Chihuahua-terrier mix passed on. He, however, hunts (did I say he's my EX?) and wanted a hunting breed, so we checked out Vizslas and absolutely fell in love. I've had many V's in my life since then and they're simply the nicest, sweetest, most loving and most clownish LAP DOGS I've ever known. Yes, they know they're lap dogs, whether their owners do or not and they are more than happy to have a chance to prove it. Energetic and rambunctious when young, they are also couch/bed/human chest potatoes and beautiful to boot. They also smell like popcorn! They're not kennel dogs or outdoor dogs: they need to be near their people. Vizsla owners refer to them as "velcro dogs!" Damned best dogs I've ever had! BTW: Just awful about that poor Whippet! Has anyone seen or heard an update on that situation? I can't imagine such a thin, short-haired animal will survive long in the kind of weather New York is having.

Last I saw he had evaded capture. It must be scary for him.
