Yep, and he was adorable, letting out little victory howls.

It was nice to see the newly recognized breeds. I particularly liked the Tibetan Mastiff. He seemed like a big playful chap.

Funniest thing ever...

MSNBC, after a night of primary returns (you know, where they show the outline of the state, and a picture of the winning candidate?), they showed a picture of NY, and a picture of little Uno next to it! Adorable.

One of my grandfathers used to raise beagles when I was a kid, and I've always had a soft spot. Yay Uno!

I agree! I don't think I'd seen one (or the big, lumbering Neapolitan Mastiff with the saucer-sized feet) before. I think I'd like to have any dog from the working group - so intelligent, and so big and cuddly!

But also stubborn, berrybearie -- stubborn as little regal Japanese mules. And yet, we love our Sammy (short for Samurai Warrior Dog) as much as he will allow us to.

I took our puppy to our longtime vet for shots on Tuesday, and everyone was so excited about Uno--his owner lives out here and she's been a client of the animal hospital for years, too. She has a ranch west of town and has a bunch of beagles, many rescued.

I'd love to rescue a beagle some day. We've had our beagle since he was 8 weeks old, and he's a treasure. Another one would be great.
