Oh, as soon as I heard about the Pedigree adoption drive, I went and donated.
Something really needs to be done about these poor animals. get them homes they deserve.

argh, those beautiful Elkies never placed in best hounds! Fist and paw shaking at our place.
Muttgirl was a rescue. She'll be five in May and with us for three years.
Go shelter dogs of all breeds!

Wow, that's fabulous. Now for the millions of other pets, lets wish them all good homes. And please gov't, shut down all puppy mills. Thank you.

If I had the space, I'd take all of them. Unfortunately three million and one dogs would be a little cramped in my apartment.

That's great news!
I've been seriously entertaining the idea of adopting another dog, but my dog is 12 years old now and she's been my only dog for the past 11 years (since I adopted her) and she gets horribly jealous and sad if another dog comes over and I pay too much attention to it. I just feel like I can't do it to her, not this late in her life. I want to spoil her for as long as she's around.

She might be depressed that she's training her replacement, so it's probably best if you wait for her to cross the rainbow bridge. Then when you're willing to adopt you can get TWO!

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. At first I wanted to get another dog while she was still around because she is such a good dog, very smart and very obedient, and I wanted the new dog to follow her example. But then I realized that she is smart enough to realize that she'd be training her replacement and would get all depressed about it. She had such a crappy puppyhood, so I want her to completely enjoy her adult life spoiled rotten.
This feels like the pet thread now, so I'll stop. But it was this darn dog show and those Pedigree commercials that brought all this to the surface again!

No!!! Not the Rainbow Bridge.
Dwan, bring the couch here and the earplugs. I don't need to go all weepy tonight.
OK, so as not to double post, I caught part the Hound recap last night.
Beautiful doxxies, partial to the roughhaired myself, but thought of Byron and crew.
And yes, the Elkies were robbed again this year. Bloody Beagles.
