Some of our favorite Buck Laughlin quotes from Best in Show (that we overuse and paraphrase at home constantly):
And to think that in some countries these dogs are eaten.
He went for her like she was made outta ham.
How do they get those brains so small? (about toy dogs)

Ooooh I just watched the smooth-coated doxies. Cuuuute!1!!!1 Will the Best in Show be tomorrow? Do we know which dogs are in it yet?
And yes, dachshunds do smell good (mine smells of peanuts and sometimes cornchips). I also agree with the non-poodle-fandom here. They just look fussy and ugly to me.

Thanks again Berrybearie (your name always makes me think of Strawberry Shortcake). I'll be scoping their website for results...

Dammit. Why did I start reading this thread? I've always wanted a miniature doxie and I did not need to be reminded of the fact that I'm not able to own a pet of any kind right now.
Double dammit. Why did I click on that link to the doggie vids? All that did was remind me of how much I also used to wish I could have had a dobie, a Scottish Deerhound, or a Schipperke.
Oh, for crying out loud. I just watched the Shiba Inu vid. Those cuties look like the ridiculously adorable result of a mating between an Akita and a fox.
*leaving thread to go pout for awhile*

Yay, James! He seemed like such a happy dog, almost smiling at times. I was rooting for him or the Bouvier or the PBGV.

What a beautiful dog. When I saw him in his group, I had a feeling he would win BOS.

Argh, it's not up yet! Who won? Who won?! Be patient, ironee. I had to wait until my mid-20's to be in a position to get a dog (and they're still a pain in the ass when it comes to looking for apartments) but they rock. I have a mini-doxie and a beagle cross, and they're just the best, corn-chip-smelling things ever.

Argh, it's not up yet! Who won? Who won?! James, the English Springer Spaniel. He was gorgeous - his coat gleamed, his gait was fluid, he had really alert eyes. Sporting group represent!

My doxies smell really good, too, unless they roll in something stinky or scary farts eek out of their butts. They're also the sweetest puppies, except for Willow's Cujo tendencies. I had to give her a hug after I saw all the doxie comments. Love me those doggies!
ETA: Our local news is reporting a HUGE upset at the dog show. Oooh, dog gossip.
Oh, James the Springer Spaniel won the Best in Show. He's a local dog from Fairfax Station, Virginia. Oh wow! He beat Bill Cosby's Dandy Dinmont Terrier.
