Group results: an Australian Shepherd won herding a Standard poodle won the non-sporting a Sealyham Terrier won the terrier group a beagle won the hound group
A toy poodle is expected to win the Toy group and I saw an article that one of the poodles is favored to win BiS. So many damn poodles have won over the years. Anytime a non-poodle dog wins, I'm inclined to be happy. I loved Josh the Newfie who won a few years ago. He was adorable.

The poodle currently sitting in my lap is offended.

Alright, I was too hard on poodles, but skimming over the history of BiS results, some breeds show up a lot and I think judges may have (unintentional) biases about winning breeds.
No retriever of any breed has won BiS and I wonder if that may be from a judges' bias that they seem too "common." My lab is offended on that regard ;-)

Hey, my Elkie is offended to be in the same class as Afghans and Wolfhounds. They make her look short and fat.

I missed most of last night's show due to choir practice - was the Sealyham who won the terrier group the same Sealyham who won the Eukaneuba/National Dog Show a few weeks ago?
Aw, nitenurse, no need for your puppy to feel that way! Elkhounds are gorgeous dogs! Tell yours I said so. And give her some scritchies from me.
I love watching the herding dogs. The Aussie who won was lovely; I don't often see Aussies that color, the ones around here tend to be the blue merle kind.

As the proud owner of a beagle, may I say "Yay Uno!" Beagles always get shafted, IMHO, and it's great to see one win.

Our household was very happy for Uno! However, we continue to be frustrated by the fact that, in our lifetimes, we will never see the awesome Shiba Inu win his group, let alone Best in Show. Where's the love for fox-like, aloof Japanese dogs?? Anyway, sorry it's over for another year -- we love Westminster!
To answer tabby's question from above, yes it was the same Sealyham that won at the AKC (I think his/her name is Charmin).

Well, another one over. Wonder how Crufts will go over? Don't see Elkhounds or Shiba Inu's coming out on top there either.
Power to the under appreciated breeds!

Wait- did the beagle win? I'm a wannabe-proud owner of a beagle. As soon as I get a yard, I'm getting a pack of them, howling be damned!
