One of my most favorite MST3Ks is The Mole People, and John Agar, who is simply horrible in it, is also ribbed mercilessly throughout - I love John Agar! (So handsome!) But I laugh at every single joke made at his expense. (Pilgrim.) So I don't think it's in any way disrespectful to feel affection for the actors in these awful, awful movies, in the same way that I end up feeling sentimental about the movies themselves. I mean, Manos should probably not exist, and no one should ever watch it, but God if I don't love it.

I have a soft spot for "Jack Frost", if only because it was the very first one I ever saw. (We didn't get Comedy Central)
"Final Justice" was great, because they REALLY hammered Joe Don Baker, knowing how much it would piss him off.

We watched Rifftrax Santa and The Ice Cream Bunny last night and, man, that was one of THE most absurd and awesomely hilarious movies ever! There is a "Thumbelina insert" (don't ask!) that gets a bit tedious, but the payoff at the end is comedy gold.

I was grumpy and tired earlier this week. So I curled up with "Gamera", I forgot how hilarious this show can be....

We watched Gamera, Hercules vs the Moon Men, Daddy-O, and Fugitive Alien over the last couple of days with our kids.
We regaled them with tales of Turkey Day's past on Comedy Central.

I'm still scarred by Santa's ass sweat stains.

Yet another reminder that fans of MST3K might find the podcasts of "How Did This Get Made", featuring performers from "Childrens Hospital", "The League" and "Party Down" -- among other guests like Adam Pally from "Happy Endings" -- are pretty funny. They're not intended to be watched in tandem with the movies themselves, but they're great for cardio or just lying on the sofa giggling. Unsurprisingly, they have a special affection for the Nic Cage catalog. You can subscribe via iTunes or download from the link above. They also have a pretty cool iOS streaming app, too, but I prefer the standalone episodes rather than streaming them.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!! Time to go spam Joel's Twitter. I've been rewatching some old eps and man, there are some really forgotten classic episodes. I love the 1950s "delinquent teens" movies they did, like The Girl in Lovers Lane, Teenage Crime Wave, The Violent Years and I Accuse My Parents.

Well, I know what I will be doing on Thanksgiving. Now I'm resentful of the family and food that will get in the way. I wonder of it will only be stuff from the Joel years, or if the Mike years will be included.
