Holy crap!! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I've been beefing up on some of my old episodes and I don't know which ones to recommend to Joel.
Gosh, has it really been TWENTY-FIVE YEARS? Jesus Christ. I love Joel so much and am over the moon that he's hosting this event. It'll give me something to do that listen to boring drivel from drunk relatives on T-Day. Must remember to bring the iPad & some headphones.
Maybe they should do some SoulTaker! Because you know you're in trouble when an Estevez is in the film.

I'd love to see Pod People, cos I barely remember it, just know it was good. I think my kid's would get a kick out of it.

Pod People featured the famous "hideous control now" song by the crappy band in the movie, which Joel and the bots then recreated.
Spinderella, it has been SO LONG. I can't remember if I posted about it in this thread, but I went to see Cinematic Titanic (kind of a Rifftrax-ish live show featuring Joel, Trace, Mary Jo, Frank and Josh Weinstein, the original Servo voice) last year. It was pointed out that there were people in the audience who could legally drink who were the same age as MST3K. Scary....
Btw, if you ever get a chance to go see Cinematic Titanic, DO IT. I cried laughing at some parts. Mary Jo was awesome, she had a couple of lines that brought down the house.

Mutagen, thanks for the recommendation! I've always come across some of the Rifftrax events that I'd love to see Cinematic Titanic. Time just blows my mind when it comes to events that happened in my youth. I think it's because it ages us all.
People on my Facebook page weren't as enthusiastic about Turkey Day as I was. I think I got only one like about it, so obviously I need some new friends. *snort*

Aw, man, I'm going home for Thanksgiving and won't have a strong internet connection. You know which episode I recently fell in love with? Devil Fish. I kinda love the ultra-80s synthesizer score.

I think I was introduced to MST3K via a Turkey Day marathon. My first three episodes were The Great Gila Monster, The Beatniks and The Unearthly. Also my first introduction to John Carradine, which is kind of hilarious.
sumire, Devil Fish is great. I am always slain by the part where beery guy puts on the audio recording of what happened on his boat, and they supply nonstop beer-guzzling noises.

Second the Cinematic Titanic recommendation. I went to one and it was a lot of fun - and it was Mary Jo who had the line that made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe. I also enjoy a lot of Rifftrax stuff - I'd like to see them live, but haven't had the chance.

Well I'm bummed. They're wrapping up their tour at the end of the year and won't be continuing it any longer. They didn't do any tours to the SoCal region, so I'm missing out on that awesome deal. Boo!
Their final performance will be: Dec 30, Philadelphia, PA Keswick Theatre 8pm Monday – (Double Feature) “The Wasp Woman” and “The Doll Squad”
If anyone is in Philly, sounds like you better get on it!
I'll have to just get the DVDs and enjoy them that way. But I hope that I can see a Rifftrax live feature and maybe Joel can make an appearance? Even Mary Jo? *sniff*

I was pleasantly surprised at how many episodes are available on Youtube. We had a little marathon going during the holidays. Got to share the Pod People with the kids, a good time was had by all.
