I'm sure Lupita Nyong'o will soon be the definive Lupita in pop culture, but right now, I still can't hear her name without imagining a little girl refusing Satan's offer of a doll.

Santa Claus is one of my favorite Christmas movies. Little Lupita was so earnest she made me like the movie underneath the snark.

In honor of the Winter Olympics, here's a YouTube link to the short Snow Thrills. And Joel and the bots' send-up of it from later in the episode. I'm quite fond of the main feature as well, "It Conquered the World." It's such an odd mix of cheesy, grim, and ham-fisted. I love how opposing characters keep telling each other what their plans are.

This is great news! Here's hoping the ratings are good enough to persuade NatGeo or another network to pick up more shows.

Don't forget (cause I almost did), Total Riff Off is on tonight on Nat Geo from 8 to 11 with repeats immediately following. The shows will air again next Tuesday night. DVR and rerun ratings count.

The next time your dog does something to annoy you, just be thankful he doesn't have a thong fetish.

Winnie-the-Pooh had the same fate...Oh, bother.
That lady during the first episode was totally on something. Like they said, "Lady, turn it down a notch. It's only shrimp."
