I keep watching this show because I keep thinking that as soon as I stop watching it, it'll start to get good. So far, I don't like it very much. I haven't laughed one single time and I'm not caring about Matt and Harriet or the show within the show. I think one more episode for me and that's it. Yes! That is how I feel too. I gave this show many chances. I finally just delete it from my Tivo. And just tonight it was on while I was flipping, I watched it for literally like 2 minutes and quickly remembered why it was no longer on my Tivo list. I had really high hopes for this show too, what a disappointment. Also...Harriett is super annoying. Like Meredith Grey annoying.

Well, I don't think this show is funny, but I don't think Tina Fey is funny either. So I'll probably end up not watching either of 'em.

Much like how everyone on the show keeps *telling* us how very much in love Matt and Harriet are rather than showing it. I'd be more inclined to believe in their grand love if it wasn't underlined so much with the giant semaphore flags.
Also the show needs to get real if it thinks that America at large would care so much about a network exec's DUI or the relationship of a sketch comedy writer. Mel Gibson's or Paris's DUI? Sure. Someone like Les Moonves? Not so much.

Sarah Paulson's Nancy Grace paled in comparison to Amy Poehler's from SNL a couple weeks ago. I felt kind of bad for her. I kind of am starting to like this show a little more, but I think it's because I have now lowered my standards waaaaay down, and I find Bradley Whitford totally sexy.
And man, did they give Lauren Graham TONS to work with.

Well, I fell asleep on this right after Sting's first scene. I like this show okay, but obviously it doesn't hold my attention.
The thing that bugs me above all else is that Sarah Paulson is not. Funny. I do not buy Harriett as a comedian at all and certainly not as the break-out star of a SNL-type show. Just...no. She doesn't even strike me as a primarily dramatic actress who happens to have good comic timing. I just don't see any of it anywhere and it completely takes me out of the show.
Matthew Perry as a comedy writer? Sure, I can see that. He's actually funny. Bradley Whitford as a producer? I can totally see that. And if I try not to think about it too hard, I guess I could see Amanda Peet as some sort of network exec. But Sarah Paulson as the lead player on a comedy sketch television show? Nope. Not at all. And because of that, I just can't buy into this "world." I understand that she was probably primarily cast because of the stuff with Matthew Perry's character, and I don't think she's a bad actress, but she is just all kinds of wrong for this part and they should have cast someone who can actually be funny.

Didn't they also violate some similar 'show don't tell' rule when they had Harriet tell her lifestory like a trite little article in People? I couldn't believe they did that.
I think Jordan is still painfully miscast, but Harriet is just being written terribly.

I thought this was funny- an interview with Rachel Dratch from NY Magazine:
I don't think making a drama about a comedy makes much sense.

Well, slap my fat ass with a rolled up cue card, but I liked this episode.
I liked all the ladies: Miss Lahti, Miss Peet, Miss Poulson, and Miss Graham (was she made to say Mr. Sorkin's dialogue? And why didn't she get to say any of it?). Somebody washed Miss Peet's face and combed her hair.
I would have told Miss Lahti every secret I had and then made some up just to have her smile and beam at me. And Miss Poulson broke my heart with her stories about her family (she still doesn't tickle my funnybone but that's for another episode post).
Mr. Perry was never this sexy on Friends. Dear God (Ha! Harriet), but Monica must have fricaseed his balls after Miss Cox chopped them off.

Studio 60 is costing them A LOT of money - Perry, Whitford, Sorkin....
I think they want to see if they get equal ratings for less cash. I don't really blame them.
